Pretty sure that artwork was just a neat picture I found on a stock image site, my artistic abilities are severely lacking.

My kids are weirdos. All of them know what pedals and circuit boards are, but my youngest is straight obsessed. She has her own personal screwdriver and "makes pedals" with me by poking different spots on circuit boards with said screwdriver. Here she is with her personal box of circuit boards (that she dug out of my discard box and moved into a new box to keep).

I know there is some overlap between bassists and studio folk, how many of you are into 500 series stuff?

I don't have anything in the works, but you can only build so many tube preamps before studio people start to catch on and ask for things, so I want to know if there's any demand here before I think too much on it.

Same. I do a lot of home recording so I had been thinking about getting into it because it seems like a neat form factor, but never committed. Had a couple people (literally just 2) ask about it recently so the thought came into my mind again.

Same -- Intrigued by it and the form factor is cool. A little bit of an investment / commitment bc you have to buy a good case for them to begin with. Already have some standard rack gear so it's hard to feel overly compelled but if I was starting over from scratch maybe

Same. I had several modules on my GAS list but never pulled the trigger on a chassis.

Same here. Was fantasizing at some point about the ideal lunchbox for mobile recording of full bands in rehearsal space, but never went through. Not on my radar at the moment.

lol yeah same. I had lists and idealized signal chains and big fantasies about putting it all to practical use, but I know now it was just GAS pains, same as everything else.
There's lots of cool stuff out there in that format, but I can't justify the investment in the empty rack, let alone modules to fill it. Maybe one day I'll build a small bass recording chain out of 500 series stuff, but that won't be any time soon.

Oh I also just ordered a 500 Series chassis to stick things in. Found a deal on a used one and I'm at work so there's no one next to me to say no.

Incorporate the transformer output from the Finally, and you'd probably garner some attention. People are obsessed with "transformer tone" these days.

Yup, that's the big gray box in the top right there. 500 series is set up for a balanced signal, so I threw the Lightning Boy transformer in.

Well completely out of character for me I haven't ordered the boards yet. I want to poke around the 500 series chassis and make sure I'm doing everything right with the routing.

Also this will likely get shelved as soon as I get my programmer for the IR loader so I can get Gondwana back on the table. But I think if I could do something Gondwana-esque in a 500-series form factor home recording people would probably be into it.
