Pedal wise, my basic tone has been an always on Compressore followed by a Trickfish Minnow, which has been quite pleasing. The Minnow is squeaky clean and the Compressore adds some great subtle tone magic, but I still wanted to dirty up the arrangement.

On Tuesday, I acquired a HW Space Heater (SH), inserted it between the two aforementioned devices, and took the rig for a drive. First impression was great, but after a bit, I found myself wanting to check in with my tone without the SH, so I disengaged it... for about 3 seconds and then turned it right back on, realizing that I had myself another always on pedal.

The SH adds a lovely, responsive breakup and some heft that sounds great, but feels even better.

Well it doesn't look like it has the issue I encountered on the other one. Could you send me a recording of what the clipping sounds like on the 1/4" output in bypass?

it sounds very nice. The DR Watson does add a bit of top end, and that's even with the treble control fully CCW.

i replaced original the JJ tubes with a NOS philips 6072 (AKA 12AY7) in position one and an RCA 7025 in position two. it gave it less gain but the gain sounds much smoother. i tried a 12AT7 but didn't like at as much as the 6072 but i may try a 5751 to get a bit more gain back.

when running with the finally, i did get a loud whine but placing a darkglass hyperluminal in between them removed the whine completely, and that's running all three of them on a single 1spot power supply.

I found a JJ 5751 and an Electro-Harmonix 7025 EH for much less. Probably won't sound quite the same as the ones you have, but maybe in the same ballpark?

it still has little less gain than the 12AX7 but more than the 6072. IMO, it's perfect with the 5751.

Quick note to say that More in front of a Realist Lifeline (piezo pickup) on the upright is crushing! Similar to the Sarno Black Box but not so bulky and a little different in a very usable and musical way.

My Finally arrived today, so it’s time to start putting together a new board. I’ve got a SaturnWorks 6 loop switcher, so I’m *hoping* I can have a multiple preamp setup that I can toggle between with that. Deciding factor will be if all these tube pedals can live on the same board or not.

Also, I’m absolutely loving the More. It makes everything sound better.

I know I was asking for it by waiting so long to open September ordering, but I'm probably going to have to cut off ordering as I don't expect it to sell out super fast. I'm thinking about making September 7th the last day for September ordering so I can get parts orders placed and start building so I don't run late.

I mean I have been tweaking my tube delay pedal, and I just got a new guitar amp yesterday. Plus I have a parts build I started that I was planning to put in the summer build off that needs work, and I also recently joined a band that has been practicing regularly.

I have plenty of things to spend time on, but I tend to prioritize customer builds

April Fools 2023 build idea - Tube Bomb - a 1590b, with a tube sticking out the face of it. When you engage the 3pdt, it blindlingly lights up the tube with a CREE led star from under it.

The actual pedal does nothing, the in/out are wired straight through, not even through the 3pdt.

The simple blinding tube-ness will placebo everyone, making it an april fools joke that lives on at every show.

Bonus points if its an RGB cree star with a small microprocessor doing a color fade between colors for ultimate cheesiness.
