Question about the More: I am looking for something to just lend a bit of saturation and fullness to my tone, not to act as an overdrive etc. Would this do that?
Yes but here we run into what is the precise definition of saturation in this context. If you push the input you can get a nice warm squish that is nice with dynamic playing while the normal level is a tube clarity and detail.
I am really loving the level of detail that the MORE is bringing out in each of my basses and nuances in my technique and it is also a bit intimidating.

My guess (and it is nothing more) is that the 2nd b/w shot is correct, because an octaver isn't a modulation effect. I have an el-cheapo Caline multi-mod which may be a lower quality implementation of the same chip (sans tube of course); it includes the chorus, flanger, tree, doubler and phaser...no octaver or pitch shifter.

It's on my to-do list. I'm hoping to get the October batch wrapped up tonight, then I can get administrative/miscellaneous stuff done before I start the November builds.
The description is correct, the picture is not. The picture on the website is one of my personal Glass Butterfly units and will be replaced as soon as I have an actual unit printed. I personally have two units: one specifically for Reverb, with 8 different reverb patches that I keep always on; and one for modulation/other effects (pictured) that I use only where needed. The actual units I will be selling will not have the "modulation" label on them, as that is just for me to differentiate my two. This is what the actual artwork will look like:

I've been using the Barefaced Machinist for some of my harder heavier gigs. It does parallel clean, distortion and fuzz. Each has a volume control, gain, and some type of EQ. I've found the parallel clean absolutely necessary to get crunchy and not lose low end heft.
What does this concept make you envision? Eh? Eh? I'm close by, you could take a look under the hood if you so desired, but I am curious what you'd do from scratch.

Nathan (@Sushi Box FX ) is a bad influence and a gateway equipment supplier. It starts off innocently enough… a space heater, maybe a hand wired Underground Accelerator… then you find out he has some DIY PCB’s. 3 or 4 hand built Space Heaters later… you realize you’re hooked and looking for the hard stuff.
So here is where I’m currently at…
Finishing up the initial test fit and wire runs. Then sometime this week I’ll power it up and test it. If it doesn’t explode or burn out the fuse panel I’ll paint the chassis and make an enclosure. It’s an AX84 Firefly and it was super fun to build.

I'm intrigued by the idea, I certainly do enjoy a good look-under-the-hood of things, even if just as a reference or to say "oh interesting, here's how I could do that better".

Looks great dude! Firefly? Glad you found musical power supplies, they quickly became one of my go-to transformer suppliers, hard to beat their quality at anything close to their price. Really great stuff, I highly recommend them for any amp-builders or aspiring amp-builders out there (not affiliated, just impressed).

Thanks man! It's a super fun build. The AX84 forums are pretty dated, but I found a great thread on DIY Stomp Boxes that Doug Hammond had commented on quite a bit and got some great info there. Currently building it up to test with the 12AU7, but I also added a switch in the back to bias it to an ECC99 that "should (might?)" push about 3W. Which is exactly the sweet spot I've been looking for. I just need to verify the transformer wiring then I'll fire it up and see what happens.

Mmkay last October update before I start shipping:
Everything is put together and tested, and I'm almost finished with my "button up" stage where the pedals get knobs, LEDs, and bottom plates in preparation for shipping. There are a couple things left that need to get done:

- One of the HWUAs failed testing and needs debugging. This will happen after shipping for everything else is complete.
- All Finally's have been tested on 1/4" output only, I still need to test XLR outputs before shipping.
- Fluffy Kitten (only one this month) needs the JFETs biased to my typical bias point before I button it up.
Due to unforeseen circumstances some of the velvet bags I typically use for pedal packaging had to be burned. As a result some of the October pedals will be shipped in cotton bags instead of velvet. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Mmkay, let's get shipping. If you're looking close you'll see that serial 2210-10 (order 1596 if you're wondering if it's you) is missing, that's the HWUA that's waiting on troubleshooting. There's no output at all, which is typically easier to troubleshoot than when they work but sound wrong, so hopefully I'll have that shipped tomorrow.
