The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Luckily, I told my guitarist that has a BE1 that you're doing the BE2 this month and he jumped right on one. So I'll be able to get my hands on it directly before snagging my own to see how well it plays with my setup.
(I also already want a MORE...)
I have an original Black Eye X and love it to death; I'd love to try the Black Eye II, but know that I'd rarely actually use it due to its size...

I really want to try a MORE, but have been holding out for a Dealer's Choice color that really speaks to me first.

You using that original for bass? I'm thinking the increased size of the new version may fit on my board still if I take something off. I'm really curious how it'll sound, though... Hard to say as you don't really see the Soldano sound associated with bass very often (if at all). My guitarist swears by it for guitar, however.

No, I only use it with Guitar. I've honestly never even tried it with any of my Bass equipment since the original version always said it was basically for Guitar-only.

The new Black Eye II being Bass-friendly is why I'd love to try it, but its size just doesn't work for me...
(...but if there was a Bass-only version in the smaller form-factor I'd be all in!)

I mean if you're down to solder I can walk you through how to do the bass boost mod, but there's no way I can fit all of Black Eye II into the same size enclosure as the original.

Super quick October batch update:

I'm continuing to make good time today, I should be able to start shipping this weekend.

If you ordered HW Slampegg, HW UA, HW DW, Fluffy Kitten, or Elementary, your pedal is fully assembled and waiting on testing.

If you ordered More, your circuit board has been soldered up and is waiting on final assembly.

If you ordered SMD Slampegg, SMD UA, SMD Finally or HW Finally, your circuit board is in the queue for soldering.

Would that risk making it too "woofy" on Guitar?
Cause as-is, it's currently one of my favorite distortion pedals for Guitar...
Nope, it doesn't add bass that wasn't already there, just opens the response to let through bass that was there and was getting filtered out. On the upper strings of the guitar you won't hear a difference at all, and on lower strings and chords it just has more "punch". Best of both worlds in my opinion.

Nathan: Could you please post a photo of the dealer's choice color for October on a completed device?

I dig that crazy crimson maaaaan...
Sure thing. This is another one of those that at one angle it looks black and at another angle looks like this. Neat finish, I like it.

Thanks Nathan!

That crimson finish is bold. It's such a journey from the first time you post the dealer's choice spoiler to actually seeing the color on a finished product.

Quick update to help encourage patience:

Everything has been assembled and is awaiting testing aside from Finally. All Finally (SMD and HW) boards have been soldered up and I should be able to get them put in this afternoon. The goal is to get through all testing tonight and get shipping handled tomorrow.
