I've been getting my velvet bags on amazon because I didn't have a particular supplier for them, but I just found out the place I get my typical shipping supplies (boxes, tape, bubble wrap) also has a deal on cotton bags, so I'll try those out instead of the velvet. They still look nice and still protect the pedal from scratching, they just don't feel like velvet.

The things I disliked about the velvet bags were 1) I was getting them from amazon 2) they sometimes "shed" little black fluff on the pedals and 3) I could only get them in sizes for 125B (UA etc) and 1590BB (DW etc), I couldn't find any big enough for 1590XX (Smoke Signal, Detective, SBVT II). These cotton bags should solve all three problems, so I'm optimistic about that.

November dealer's choice powder came in today, just did a test coat on a spare lid I had around. The look is similar to rainbow's end, but a lot more dramatic.

I wish I could order a Glass B-fly in this colour....I hope the Dec dealer's choice is as appealing to me as that from Nov . I am OK with many colours, but there are a few "no fly zones" for my eyes, namely gold & silver, which would prolong my wait until Jan or Feb.....

Friendly announcement that November ordering will be closing November 1 so I can start building. I'm planning to take some time off around Thanksgiving (Nov 24) so I would like to get all November builds finished before then and I want to make sure I have enough time to do that. I plan to open December ordering around the middle of November. I haven't selected the dealer's choice finish for December yet, I'll keep everyone posted on that.

The Hiwatt stack is a little different, there isn't really a flat spot, it always seems to keep that dip in the mids.

The only changes Elementary has over the values shown there are Treble pot is 250k instead of 220k, Bass pot is 500k instead of 470k, and R4 was upped to 220k to tame the output level. If you open it up you'll see that Elementary does not have a trimpot for the master volume attenuation as a result.

FWIW & IME scope flat or harmonically flat is generally not pleasing to the human ear or terribly useful - the flavor is in those dips and curves. Those harmonic characteristics as well as the saturation characteristics are what all the circuit benders are chasing to find something special to peak our hearing interest. For example pro studio reference monitors or headphones are designed for flat response and detail but that is also why they cause listening fatigue thus serious listeners and audio professionals will often also have separate speakers and headphones for more casual listening. If I spend too much time listening to my reference gear it triggers my migraines, @Sushi Box FX designs tend to be a remedy.

lots of great content here, and as a doubler on upright and electric I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on a Furthermore once they're orderable.

but a question: will that be possible to have input impedance around 10Mohms? I mean, I could just go in and change the resistor if it were big enough to be handwired.

Truthfully, I didn't care about flat eq, I eq by room/ear; however I know it wasn't long before someone asked, so figured I'd get it answered early :laugh:

It's still a ways down the road, but a 10M input impedance should absolutely be doable as an option.

As a doubler myself I can tell you the combination of the Finally and HPF are about the most perfect setup ever created for a compact, do exactly what I need, kind of rig.

Edited to add... The only other thing would be an A/B switchable input. That way I don't have to use an external switch or swap cables.

Mike and I have been talking about it, I have a prototype on my workbench right now, thanks for reminding me I need to email him today.

I probably knew about the 20SX before you did :P
