I know this has probably been covered a million times, but what’s the cheapest/easiest way to power 3 pedals, one of which is the Slampegg X? I am very green on that subject. Will a onespot daisy chain work?

I'm a frugal outsider but I am still having success with 1Spots and Daisy chains, no noise and no brown 0outs even on my critical recording chain and power hungry boards.

All these pedals plus 2 underneath, SA Neuro Hub and [sfx]mThump2, run fine on a daisy chain and a 1Spot, ymmv

If it sounds good it is good That's great for you and frankly amazing to me. I had nasty noise issues regularly when I used daisy chains. That stopped as soon as I went to isolated bricks. I occasionally use a chain now, but only if I am not using a board and never with > 2 or 3 pedals.

If I recall what I've read about that power supply is that it's not truly isolated outputs, although it'll work for power consumption.

I have no idea (I assume you're right). All I know is that I get no noise from it. I have a CIOKS on a bigger, hungrier board, and the Caline on a small one.

Funny all the talk about power supplies. I just reconfigured my board to accommodate Fender/Ampeg preamps. I took the power tap off of the Waza and daisy chained to my HPF and impulse. No problems and sounds great.

I use a onespot for my home board SushiBox, a separate one for everything else. My gig board has a more sophisticated/expensive power supply.

Heynow... .would be great to the TSC links (where approriate) with the implemented C1-C4 or other values that make sense. We can see with the slampegg link the C# values were slightly different than default, which in effect lowered the mid range knee in the slampegg implementation by a couple 100 Hz. Could be cool to see the UA values as well maybe... thanks.. Happy New Years!

Just got a Slampegg in the mail, first Sushi pedal I’ve tried. Initial testing is showing high amounts of awesome and je ne sais quoi. More to follow.

I figure if I am using a preamp on my board, then it will always be on, so the footswitch becomes unnecessary, right? May as well use it for a boost

The only one that comes to mind is the mini tube version of the Sunnday Drive that occasionally turn up used here and on Reverb. I have linked the X version that is currently archived and a sold one on Reverb.

Mini tube pedals sound very good IMHO just as good as the X versions with their own character, I prefer them in some cases over the X versions. Ymmv.

@Sushi Box FX I also think it would be amazing to have a small pedal like the Space Heater that would be always on + boost mode with the switch, don't you? Do you think it would be feasable?

The functionality of the Drive X looks pretty great - with a toggle-switch in lieu of footswitch for preamp on/off and boost on the footswitch.

I have three gigs in the next two days... so obviously the best thing to do today is overhaul my board. It's actually something I've been meaning to do for a while now but always put it off. I reflected about how I've played over the last year and I'm ashamed to admit it... while I really love effect pedals, I just don't use them in my style of playing right now. So I pulled off the chorus, the octave, the envelope and the drive/dirt type pedals. This is what I'm left with, but I think it best suits my needs for now. I'm sure I'll change my mind again over the summer and put some effect pedals back on the board, not because I use them, but because I miss the idea of having them on the board.

Proud to say the HW Underground Accelerator made the cut! Not that this information is a surprise to anyone in this thread. It's a really really great pedal. This particular one has a 12AT7 in it, but I might swap in the 12AU7 based on the context it's being used in right now. My gentle growly giant of a pedal.

Hey all, I have an HW Elementary, it has huge bottom and cut. which I like a lot for the heavier music that I play. But it does have a considerable mid scoop which doesn't always work for me, especially for fingerstyle funk stuff.

I also have a SMD Slampegg Bee, which sounds nice but it's too round, I like my highs and high mids.

Is there another pre which has the low end thickness and high end sparkle/cut, but also rich punchy mids and that nice low-mid bump? Would the Underground Accelerator fill that need?

Although my experience is limited to the Space Heater and the UA... I feel like the UA is a great all rounder and does so many things so well with the tone stack it's got. I'm sure others that own every Sushi Box pedal made will chime in soon, but I think the reason I don't own other pedals is because that UA is just solid in every way.
