I would venture to guess that unless you had an Alembic sitting on the desk next to you, it would be hard to disappoint yourself with either. I have a piano/synth emulator that also accepts digital effects and it has an excellent Alembic preamp on it and to my ear it sounds fairly close to the UA/PA, with my ear edging towards the UA/PA because the way the tube saturates sounds better to me. Likely a biased opinion, but I totally own that opinion.

IME the Underground Accelerator is better on bass that the other Alembic F2B style pedals I have.

I have used an Alembic F2B in the past and loved it. I was using a @johnk_10 FET-F2B that is wonderful and clean for many years on my pedal board, it is on my second board now. My first SB was a mini tube Particle Accelerator that I use in my recording set up. Now I am using the Underground Accelerator because it is more versatile and has a nice depth and heft. The UA in low gain settings is just as clean but has a bit of depth over the PA to my ear that really works live plus the ability to push the gain for grit is a plus.

Currently using a UA... My observations in comparisond with an F1X and F2 B are...
1. there is more apparent low end on tap in the UA
2. there is more tonal complexity in each of the Alembics
- mids are middier, highs have a doftness to them, airy in a way.
3. For live use the UA is plenty fine! It is by far my fav of the SBFX pedals.

What would be super cool might be a SBFX 2 channel line mixer (gain balancing only, no eq) with a crossover built in. Mono out, hi and lo out. Use that to combine the outputs of 2 UA's and you have the bastard child of an F2B and an F1X. Or 1 bass into slampeggX or a Venus and the other into the UA.... hmmmmodular!

There's someone who actually makes this in a palm-sized unit, but I'm having a hard time finding it...

My large stage rig begins with an Alembic F-1X. When I don’t feel like hauling it around, I use my UA and am very happy with the results. I own a Particle Accelerator but the latest version of the UA is quieter, and so superior in my view. I hate to use superlatives like “the best” because they are so subjective, but I will say this: the UA is the best tube-based preamp pedal that uses the Fender to e stack (like the Alembic pre-amps) that I have ever heard. If the Alembic pre-amp tone is your Holy Grail (it’s mine) the UA is what you want.

Tone an I find it pretty affordable for the seemingly great tone. So unless I find used do I order these one at a time? First time sushi! I almost went AMT A series but the
Sushi’s get such love I think with my Spector an genzler rig it’ll sound great!

I’m not as familiar with what the fx does. An the other sushi pedal they are fairly new after i started chasing a nice alembic tone without going totoslly broke

If you're looking for new the Underground Accelerator are currently on backorder as I didn't have the parts on hand that I thought I did. Parts should be here thursday, I expect to start filling backorders thursday and friday.

Or if you can find one used that's obviously an option.

I seen that no rush I need to sell
Off a few pedals. I’m excited I think this is going to add alot of growl, cut, an just nice tone to my rig. I run the genzler Magellan head 800 an the Spector euro 5 LT I love alembic clean edge of breakgrowl when digging in it seems like that’s what you have mann

IME the Magellan preset curve with the mid bump pushed to noon works incredibly well with the underground accelerator because the fender tone stack gets a bit scooped when you push bass and treble near noon. That is my go to meat and potatoes bass tone….with the perfect amount of grind….always gives me a grinnin’ bass face.

That's a great company to work with! I've ordered a few project PCB's from them that were shipped here to Texas and each experience was a great one. They've got some cool stuff... even cooler if they've added any of your pedals to the mix.

I am using my Sushi Box More live for the first time tonight at an outdoor venue. I am using a Fender Jazz through a Markbass Littlemark 800 and a Markbass 4x10 cab. Any suggestions for my signal chain? Is there a way to use the Sushi Box More for just my amp and not for front house?

You think like I have PA I found for a deal I’m not missing much when it comes to being diff for the UA? An from what I hear man these two really shine for the alembic clean edge of breakup tone. I use a Spector Euro Lt it’s for a darkglass pre built in but I play jam music. But that covers all generas. I play alot more funk an rock tho to sum it up.
Will this pedal add a lot of noise to a preamp like the Spectors have? If you listen to I guess somwhat of Phil leshs tone. But more of like the band goose or lotus those tones are example. It’s not constant distortion I want but That Grindy breakup sound “tube” an growl when I dig in but not color to much or be fizzy an lose all my
Low end. I don’t use any Distortion sn I don’t see needing much which is why I’m hoping this two are more of the clean breakup! I’m about to pull the trigger on one! Passing up a deal on a pog2 cause I feel these little things are Rockn in the few reviews I seen

last thing what is the fx pedal? Is it much like a preamp? The video online I seen the guy was playing a Spector an I think demoing the fx pedal. But had a PA or something

I want to get the PA I found online. Cause it seems to have less gain and distorion but the UA prob retains sound as you say. It’s huge that when considering the LPF of it all. It seems like I’ll be happy either way but of course tone freaks. Lol
