Hey everyone, just got back from vacation this afternoon, so I'm around now. I have a bunch of orders to ship and emails to answer, but true to form I'm hanging out on forums instead of writing emails. Like my day job.

Anyway, regarding pedals currently in the pipes:

I expected Single Slice to be an easy slam dunk to get out, but after some comments from an outside reviewer I revisited it and I'm not happy enough with it, so it will be getting a major redesign that is certainly going to delay it.

I finally got around to talking to Ian about his thoughts on the Grand Slampegg I sent him, and now I have mixed feelings on it. I think I agree with Ian, but I think I also want to get some more opinions on it before I make any final decisions.

SBVT II is realistically probably the closest I have to ready-to-go, but the design from the prototype is already over a year old (stamped September 2022) and I know I could do better.

Furthermore is Furthermore. I have a working prototype of the HPF/LPF section that I'm pretty happy with, so that was one of the big hurdles. But I also decided I'm not completely satisfied with the way I had the tonestack designed, so I've redesigned that and the circuit boards for that showed up tuesday while I was out, and I haven't had time to build them up yet (I've promised myself I would catch up on email before building anything today). If that works as well as I expect it to then we should be in pretty good shape for getting a final prototype design thrown together with all the features. Here's where it stands right now:

• main preamp - done (using More as a baseline)
• tonestack - prototype tonight
• D.I. output - done (using Unagi transformer)
• HPF/LPF - done (prototype finished Monday)
• headphone amp - working prototype from last year worked great, will test with tonestack/preamp prototype when ready
• line-in - still pending, but I don't expect too much trouble

And just like that I've already spit out a wall of text. I hope you guys missed me.

Real world feedback on Finally V2. I was at my second gig last week using my new Finally V2. Was fine the first gig. This time, I got it dialed in and it was sounding really, really good through the amp. My guitar player/sound guy comes up and says my signal is way, way too hot and I am killing him. I said, oh, I can fix that. Took that little dial on the side and dialed it until he had it perfect out there. Very nice upgrade. Also, I did not know what I would think of the HPF. When I first tested it at home, without the HPF on, it sounded really big and really good. Just a tad thinner with the HPF on. But, at the gig in a room and not at home, kicking the HPF on really tightened it up and made it sound so much better in the mix.
In summary, great upgrades and still really liking this thing.

Practice amp, preamp, HPF, LPF... You're really hitting all the right notes for us! Now just needs 2 inputs for us doublers and a power amp to drive a cab...
That being said, is the preamp for the More/Furthermore now an original circuit design to you or is it still somewhat based on the Deep Dish/LA-2A? Asking just out of curiosity, it would be interesting to see what the "Sushi Box" sound will be, in the same way that there's a "sound" to Aguilar, Markbass, Ampeg, etc.

I'm just so happy about the prospect of the Furthermore existing exactly how he described it. I'll build my own dual input box to go with it. It's the Sushi I've been waiting on this whole time.

A little bit of both kind of? It's an original design based on the things I've learned and the things I liked from Effectrode.

Yes, I like the podcast, where else can you listen to people nerd out on bass? Seems very genuine and plugged into both standalone and multifx (HX) pedals. Would love to pick his brain on everything from pedals to basses to technique.

Yeah we talked about that a little, he mentioned there were a few suggestions he made that ended up in the final product. Excited to have him as another external source to get feedback from, he definitely knows his stuff.

Super quick Furthermore stuff: I played with the new preamp section with the redesigned EQ section last night and I am in love. It was the first time in a long time that my bass tone left me speechless. It was everything. It was huge, it was warm, it was punchy, it was clear. The EQ is responsive but not overbearing, it has a nice range but it doesn't have a bad setting on it, everything is useful. I will always be embarrassed of my playing abilities, but I think this deserves at least a quick demo, so that's on my to-do list for tonight.

Also I've had a handful of people reaching out asking when I expect to have Furthermore available. Each of the individual pieces (aside from the line-in of the headphone amp) have been tested and now I need to throw everything together and make it play nicely, which is not a trivial task. I don't expect it to be perfect on the first go, I expect a couple revisions at least before I'm happy, especially if the Venus X development timeline is any indicator.

So all of that said, with NAMM being my main focus right now and everything else taking the backseat to NAMM preparations, summer 2024 would be the absolute earliest I would expect it to be ready. I'm still not promising a summer 2024 release as there's a lot of work to do and some factors out of my control, but that's the absolute soonest I could see it happening.

Yup, every D.I. pedal I do from now on will have independent volume controls for each output. I like it too much for it to be a one-time thing, and I already have a verified method of doing it so I can keep the work I've done and re-use it.
