Mmkay, true to my word I did a SUPER quick demo of the Furthermore preamp prototype I have built up. I may have someone else do one for me since I don't know when I'll have time to do something more in-depth than recording a lick into a looper and twisting knobs a couple times.

Signal chain is looper -> preamp -> interface instrument input

Settings are, in order:

1. bypass
2. all controls flat
3. treble dimed, everything else flat
4. bass dimed, everything else flat
5. mids dimed w/ switch set for 450Hz, everything else flat
6. mids dimed w/ switch set for 800Hz, everything else flat
7. Bass at 1:00, mids dimed w/ switch set for 450Hz, treble at 2:00

I know it isn't a full show of what it sounds like, but hopefully it gives enough to get you a general idea of the tone. And in my defense it's almost 3AM here and I should sleep sometime.

Sounds absolutely kick ass. Switching between the first and last sound in that demo really shows how the original loop is enhanced tone-wise. Love how the EQ isn't overpowering when dimed and is totally useable.

I rolled a JJ 12AT7 in my UA this afternoon, really happy with the result. Was able to get much closer to my TB500 tone and that edge-of-breakup tubey goodness.

It certainly is. I spoke to my transformer supplier and production has been delayed so they expect to have them ready to go January 6. But I have a number of backorders for them already, so I figured I'll get boards built up so I can have them ready to go, then when transformers show up I can just drop them in, do some quick testing, and get them shipped out. Hoping to at least clear out Finally backorders before NAMM even if I won't have time to build up a lot of stock.

Wow, that didn't take long to guess.

I think I've mentioned this before, but I spend so much time thinking about pedals that it's not uncommon for me to dream about building pedals and literally design circuits in my sleep. When I wake up I find that maybe 75% of these are impossible or just stupid, and the other 25% I try out and they sound bad, so I've never even come close to releasing a "dream-designed" pedal.

Until Cascade. I had a dream about a tube-driven analog chorus, and when I woke up it still seemed like a good idea, so I designed Cascade, which uses a 12AX7 and a MN3007 BBD (bucket-brigade device). The results are excellent. It's not perfect yet, but the main issue right now is that it has some noise in the high range, which is common with BBD circuits. It's not unusable on guitar, but it's definitely noticeable when it's not in a mix. Well guess what? On both of my bass amps (GK Backline/Peavey 210 and GB Streamliner/Eden 610) the noise is apparently at a high enough frequency that it's not even present. And since this is essentially a tube preamp that happens to have a chorus section, the low frequency response is fabulous, resulting in a delightful bass chorus.

Not by itself, nope. Obviously you can push the input with a boost or drive to get breakup in the front end, but it wasn't designed to breakup by itself.
