Anyone ever swap the LED color on one of their pedals? Just curious what that process looks like as I will no doubt end up with more sushi box pedals and thought it would be cool to color code them based on the LED

This isn't the first time I've been asked this so for months I had been meaning to make a quick video showing how I do it, and I kept forgetting every time I actually swapped an LED, until tonight! This Black Eye II was on my board for a while and it originally had white LEDs, but I'm swapping them for the standard pink so this can be a demo unit for NAMM.

Does anyone have any advice how sushi box pedals do in the HX stomp’s fx loops? Or is it better to keep them in series with the stomp? It also seems like putting them after the stomp would defeat the cabsim but I could be wrong.

My initial thought is to try going

Tuner -> stomp compression -> Sushi Box UA (fx loop 1) -> stomp drive -> stomp modulation -> Sushi Box More (fx loop 2) -> stomp cabsim -> FOH

Question for all you Sushi-Heads: I just got a second hand Space Heater (thanks TomB!), and like it so far. I already want to look into one more, but can't decide... I have a Radial Pro DI that's nice and clean, been my workhorse for years. Is there any advantage in using a Finally over just keeping the Space Heater and going through my Radial? Or should I just look into something else?

If you get a Finally you will have traded two spaces on your pedal board for one.
Now you have an empty space where the Radial was for another Sushi flavor.

Or plug in your current Sushi and have a double Space Heater.

Works fine for me too! Mine is Cali76 > HX Stomp Effects loop (Tech 21 YYZ feeding Underground Accelerator) > HX Stomp switchable chorus, switchable dirt, switchable octaver, spring reverb > FOH

I had a Finally at the end of that chain but I only need so much tube-y goodness per board

I have a Slampegg into a More on my home board. To me, some bottom drops out, energizing the lows of the Slampegg helps. Has anyone else experienced this? I thought a More added More, not subtracted anything.

Retraction time. I tried tweaking my home board settings, and all I really needed was more gain on the More and there IT was, subtle, but there. I turned down some treble on the MarkBass amp and I was able to turn up the More gain without some high-pitched whine I was getting. All good now.

Here a weird one for you guys. I have a couple of Sushi’s not playing nice.
I have a Handwired Slampeg and a regular Slampeg. For the longest time the HW was my go to drive pedal, gain dimed, great tune break up drive. It has since moved to an always on flavor pedal. Gain at 930-10-edge of the edge of breakup. enter the new non HW Slampeg, added after the HW. With the intention of using that as my drive/gain dimed. This Slampeg makes a high pitched squeal with the HW on before it. Shut the HW, no squeal.
This is even with out playing a note.
I need to dial back the gain to about 11 for them to play nice.
Now this is w/out playing a note.
If I reverse the order no issues. If I dime the gain on the non HW, no issues. It’s just the HW before the Non HW. I can put other pedals before the NON HW w/o any issues.
I figured maybe the HW was really pushing the NonHW, but I’m able to toss other drives before and push the pedal, no squeal.
Any one have any ideas? @Sushi Box FX

Can I see the circuit board of both? Depending on when they were made one or both may be missing "the fix".

Okay, so it looks like the fix has been done on the SMD version, and the HW version is the latest revision of the board which has the fix built in. The only thing I can think of is that the SMD unit doesn't like being pushed by the HW unit, and it's being pushed into oscillation.

Out of curiosity, what's the tube in the SMD unit? I can see the HW has a JJ/Tesla, but don't see a log on the other. Not saying it's an issue, just wondering what's in there.

It came to me with a Soviet 5751 (which is in the picture), but I also rolled a Mesa 12AX7. Same result

The More is in the Stomp’s FX loop - depending on the patch, I sometimes put it before overdrives, and in other cleaner patches near the end of the chain. Just depends on what I think sounds best.

I've done something similar; Cali76>Octabvre>HX Stomp> UA efx loop> HX Stomp Cab Sim (reverb etc..) > Sushibox Finally

Worked really well; other drives and such before the Stomp sounded good too. I eventually switched back to using a Shift-Line Olympic at the end of my chain as it has a Cab IR loader and tube preamp, doing what two pedals and a block within the Stomp were doing with one

I use 12AU7's in my Slampegg, UA and Finally. 12AX and 12AT's were too hot for my liking, they distort too easily. I can drive the 12UA's and get good tube saturation before distortion and that happens when pushing them to their limits. I like the even harmonic enhancement that tubes give me but without distortion. Just my 2 cents...

Put an EHX 12au7 in my Finally v2 and now achieve unity gain with both knobs near noon.

Very similar tonally to the drypass (transparent), so might be desirable for someone who wants an XLR DI out front of chain with room for optional clean boost, but otherwise likes their sound as it is.

Unity gain with an 12ax7 was both knobs at 9:00.

@lomo Pretty sure the Sushi Chef is busy prepping for NAMM, and following up the big Venus X release (probably the Finally v2 as well). You/we will probably have to wait for a hot minute, after that wraps up, to get any tangible updates on what course to expect next leaves the kitchen...

On the Single Slice, my question is, and sorry if I missed it already, will this be more of a tone shaper compressor or a full on compressor with just some tube goodness on top?
