Just confirming - there hasn’t yet been a direct comparison yet of the X and non-X versions of the same pedal, correct?

Correct. The December batch is the first release for the X series.
Haha! I feel like I placed my order within the first few pages of this thread and the earliest I could get was Dec.
I’ll compare the Slampegg and Slampegg X as soon as I get my hands on the X.
I really don’t know which one I want to win. I decided to stick with the standard LU, not X, so that I can power it with my One Spot. I would need a new power supply to start getting into 12V pedals, but the lower current draw and ability to swap tubes has me curious. Shrug. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

With all that being said,It's already in production, I just haven't been talking about itI ran the first batch of enclosures on the new CNC last night and it was excellent. I can now run three boxes in the same time it used to take to do one, so I got 8 done last night, just 12 more to go. I was waiting on a couple parts orders before I really jumped into the circuit boards, but the main one showed up yesterday so I'll be diving hard into boards today.

Does it look like wait times will start to go down? Or is there more streamlining to do?

So part of what has taken me so long to get this month's batches really started was hammering out the kinks in the process, but so far it looks good for being able to offer more builds a month. Powdercoating is still going to be the bottleneck as my oven can only cure 2 pedals at a time, but I'm in negotiations with management (my wife) to get a bigger oven so I can speed up that process as well. Eventually I'll be saving time because I'm not changing colors as much, but if it takes 15 minutes to cure every 2 pedals, that means a typical month's batch takes around 3 hours just waiting on the oven.
Yeah I want to see the difference between the b15 pedal and b15 X, and then compare that to a regular dr. watts, all before Jan 1 deadline - hopefully everyone gets theirs in enough time to speak on them
Well I hit a snag with the CNC machine. So the new machine can go about 8x as fast as the old machine, but as it turns out if I let it run as fast as it can it just melts the metal and leaves a big aluminum mess on the enclosure. I thought I had the settings dialed in and successfully ran 8 enclosures through it, but now it's back to melting things. I'm going to leave enclosures alone until tonight and focus on getting circuit boards done for now. I'm thinking I'll probably have to run it at about the same speed as I did the old machine, which means it isn't really saving me that much time. The big upside is still the size though, I can load multiple enclosures all at once and just hit go then walk away, so I save time changing them out in the machine I guess.
I'm no machining expert but running at a faster rate would likely wear out the tooling in fewer completed enclosures. And perhaps require better tool condition to keep up. So it wears out faster and needs to be in better shape. Double whammy.
I am also not a machining expert, and I agree. I'm going to slow it down to match the old machine's speeds. It took 30-40 minutes per enclosure, but it never messed up and one tool literally did about 80 enclosures before it wore out.
I don't suppose you also kept your old CNC machine?
It's still in the family, but it's on its way to my brother in California. One of my wife's conditions for me getting the new one was getting rid of the old one, I needed the garage space.
