Happy belated birthday, and I apologize for the absence of Cascade news. I've been busier than I planned and it got pushed aside. It's written on my whiteboard, so I see it over my workbench and I won't forget about it, but it keeps getting pushed.What is happening with the Cascade Tube Chorus??????????

It's a relief to hear Nobelium has sold out. I almost succumbed.
I’m watching the Bassdude dwindle and getting an itchy finger. Maybe if there was a sound sample somewhere?
I put this board together on a whim for one specific bass. I picked up a late 80’s Washburn/Status bass recently. The electronics are unusual. It is active, but basically it amounts to a really bright bass with an active tone control.
On my board, The octave, envelope, and chorus are all to give my some synth options. The Diamond is because I like those compressors. I have this one and an earlier, pre-SGFX one. (They are different, but I like them the same.)
The Sushi Box stuff was me knowing what I wanted and guessing what these pedals might sound like. I got the Slampegg Bee because every pedal setup I’ve been happy with has Ampeg-ish parts. I got the Nobelium thinking that what I really needed for the Status electronics was to beef up the bottom. I figured that would relegate the Slampegg to being an occasional use OD pedal.
I missed my guesses by a bit. The bass knob on the Nobelium is as-expected. I also like what the treble knob does on the Nobelium, and that wasn’t initially a consideration. The Slampegg may end up being an ”always on” pedal, because I like the way it can gently break up the bottom and leave the top crisp (I usually target the opposite of that), and despite the lack of a Mids knob, I like what it does to midrange frequencies.
It is all still new to me, but so far, I’m very happy.

12AX7 has 5 times as much gain as 12AU7, which means with a 12AX7 installed and the gain turned up you can get a fair amount of overdrive. Some people like this, some people don't. With a 12AU7 installed the pedal becomes completely clean with no overdrive, and the Gain control becomes more of a "saturation" control.
Yup that was it. I've been talking with Philip about doing this for over a year, and after we met in person at NAMM we chatted some more and decided it was time to finally (lol) make it happen. He's been using my pedals for years and we've chatted quite a bit, and he is the nicest person you'll ever meet. Super excited to work with him.
More clean, less grit. I put a 12AU7 in my Finally V1 and it was great but I wanted a little of the break up and have settled on a 12AT7.
I'm excited to try my first Sushi Box and first tube pedal... if I wanted some tube goodness all the time, and a di, the finally seems great. What world work nice in front of it for occasional light distortion/grit? Thinking finally as my pre/di and something to build up with before.

The Elementary can dial in overdrive but also works as a nice preamp. Same with the UA, but you can switch the tonestack off and just use it as a clean or dirty boost (this may be what you're looking for). You can dial in some grit with the Slampegg too, but much easier with the Elementary and UA. Then beyond that, there's the Black Eye, Detective, and Dreamcatcher for actual distortion.
Thanks! To have an always on pre, and a switched drive would you do a combo of say an Elementary and a UA, or just one of them on front of a Finally?
Almost snagged the detective that was listed last week, but it was pulled before I could decide. There appears to be a smoke signal available that sounds like it would fill this need with a Finally added after.
