Are you thinking of putting the FET boost before or after the tube gain stage?

Im guessing there isn’t much drive from a single parallel tube gain stage. Boosting the signal going into the tubes might allow you to dial in a bit of grit. Maybe?

I am planning to put it after, I just want more output volume. Putting it in front would certainly allow it to push some breakup, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I don't want to change the overall character of the tone, just make it louder.

Agreed, you're either going to want instrument level or you're going to want line level, and you generally know that before you get to the gig. The only reason I lean towards an external toggle switch for it is that I try to minimize the amount of time users need to spend inside the pedal. I always tell everyone to remove power before opening the pedal, but if someone wants to A/B the difference between the two levels I could see them leaving the pedal plugged in while the back is off and sticking their fingers inside to toggle the internal switch. And that makes me nervous. If I have room for a switch on the face then it will go on the face.

It will be on both since they come from the same source. This does have the independent level controls for both outputs like Finally v2 though, so you can dial back one if you need a hot output on one and not the other.

I use a wooden chop stick for poking around in live devices. recommended!!

I kind of like it when there is a bare plastic pot shaft with a slot in it sticking up for those set and forget settings that you might want to tweak every now and then, only the 6mm shaft and no knob.
Even better if they only just protrude a little bit on the front so they are hard to bump at all.
I kind of wish that the Nobelium had that for the XLR trim pot, it only needed a few more holes and you could use a 9mm pot OR a trim-pot, whichever suits you.

The Nobelium that I sold as a Sushi Box product does have that, as does Finally v2 and the Grand Slampegg prototype. The Nobelium DIY project sold under the C2C Electronics name does not.

Just get the trim pot with a knob.

When I went to order at Mouser they were out, but I think Digikey might have them in stock. I'll definitely order some if I build another up.
