Count me in! I've played guitar for 26 years and bass off and on for about 17 years. I recently also took up the double bass, as well as some mandolin and banjo. I double with DB and EB for one band, DB for another band and electric guitar for two other bands, running the gambit from speed metal and punk to folk/americana/bluegrass. I'm pretty mediocre when it comes to bass, but I know my way around a guitar alright. Here's my current gear list:

I've played guitar off an on for about 30 years (mostly on for the last 7 years). Although nothing to anyone here's level, I just got a new Dean bass right after father's day and have touched my Yamaha since (except to move it out of my main playing rack). Would this make me a "switched" hitter then?

I play bass in a mostly originals trio (fretted and fretless P basses), mandolin for a great female duo called "Troubadours of Divine Bliss" (Mandolin is kind of an upsidedown soprano bass!), and guitar and tabla (india drums) in a world music group with harmonium and clarenet. For me the tabla is by far the hardest thing to play, gives me great respect for my drumming brothers!

I like to think I'm good at bass though. I play cleanly and can keep time, anyway. I haven't been playing either instrument for all that long though so of course there's room to improve.

Have a gtr gig tomorrow night (following a bass one in the afternoon)
For gits and shiggles, decided to try a switch-hitter rig this time.
Started with an elderly-but-tweaked-up ART SGX Nightbass SE
tube pre.
Has a lot of gtr patches in it, and the original pedalboard.
(Can't say as I've missed running 2 MIDI cables for that one)
tunable Biamp outputs.
Low side goes to a power amp, then to a small 1)15" cab
Hi has the option of running through the other side of the amp and to a 1)12 vint30 cab
or running into a Crate Club 20 (and then to the vint30)

Tried it out on my upper patio and annoyed the crap outta my neighbors (j/k, everybody's cool here)
Sounded pretty good, distortion settings weren't too shabby.
Beat my RP3 by a large margin.
(OK an overdriven transistor radio will beat out an RP3 by a large margin)

I can run my tube screamer through the mono fx loop.

Looking forward to seeing what this frankenstein rig does in a live situ.

Tried the frankenstein rig Sat night,
made it through 1 set before deciding I really prefer the tone of the 20w tube amp with a 12" cab.
Then I had to put all that junk back in the truck..............

Broke the high E on the last song of the night, from a fresh set.

I'd like to join, please! I mainly use guitar as a songwriting tool these days, but I do play all guitars on my original material. I used to play guitar a lot more and was a lot better 4 years ago than I am now, but the last few years have been dominated by bass.

I love Telecasters in general, I have a 1996 MIK Squier which I honestly believe is the best guitar ever made. I've also got a Strat from the same line, which sucks! Recently had to sell my Epiphone Les Paul Junior, unfortunately, but I'm looking to save up long-term for a white Gibson Les Paul Custom with gold hardware.

While playing bass pays the mortgage, I do get to play a little bit of guitar or mando from time-to-time. Usually acoustic guitar on singer-songwriter gigs or sessions and a little bit of electric guitar session work (as well as my own songwriting). When somebody needs a REAL guitarist, I'm always happy to refer a colleague who's specializes!

Anyway, here's my guitar collection (minus an old 60's Kent hollowbody that is hanging around somewhere...):

clockwise from rear left: A Larrivee LV-03 acoustic steel string, an inexpensive Ibanez mandolin a/e, an Ibanez AFS-75 hollowbody with flats and a bigsby, a Takamine classical nylon string, US '69 Reissue Telecaster, 60's Yamaha SA-30 Hollowbody and my trusted US Deluxe Plus Stratocaster.

The Yamaha is probably my favorite of the bunch. It has unique brighter sounding humbuckers with less output than modern 'buckers. Really versatile sounding and with it's own 'thing' going on!

I also started my journey on the ol 6 string.
Not currently playing guitar in bands these days, (bass only), but I still have my BC rich USA (strat), and my Martin A/E.. so Technically I do still play/record/ screw off on the 6 strings. I play them through my bass rig with multi effects etc.
