Sure I'll take a number and thanks for the comment Silvie, but that doesn't mean I'm 83 (I'm 40). It just means that I'm indecisive and broke because of it.
Ok how about a few quick gear pics? We like those right?
First the basses from left to right:
1) LTD TA-600 - I traded an 90's Ibby 506 to my neighbor that wanted a 6. I'm past this stage, but its still fun.
2) Ibanez Asula - Just 'cause its weird (6 string, 4 fretted, 2 fretless).
3) Carvin LB76 - "The Blue Beast" It weighs a ton, plays amazing, and sounds great.
4) Squier P-bass Special - Satin finish with flats makes this a great player
Guitars?
1) 80's Casio MIDI guitar, the 5-pin version. I've since picked up a Godin and a Brian Moore w/ the 13pin set up for guitar synth work.
2) My Frankenstrat and first electric I got at 13 years old. This has been totally rebuilt since this pic. It has a new Kahler, electronics clean up (push pull tone knobs for splitting humbuckers) and a new pickguard, still white just a recut. This is my idea of a "relic Strat", battle scarred by playing shows, not losing a fight to a sander.
3) EBMM John Petrucci 7-string w/piezos
Carvin Bolt Plus - Kinda like the Frankenstrat no?
Carvin C66T - Main squeeze (guitarwise) for the last 6 years or so, and my first Carvin instrument and it was only a 30 day build!
And finally.... the jam room that they live in normally.
Man I really need to update these pics. I think they're about 4 years old now, so I'm way past do to update since there have been some significant gear updates since these were taken. I wonder where that camera run off to.....

That is a Johnson Millennium 150 2x12 combo amp.
The Johnson amps came out just prior to Line 6 arriving on scene and at the very end of the rack rig era. They are based on Digitechs GSP 2112 racks (still have one of those to) with full midi implementation, 19 coninuous controllers per patch, full effects series or parallel routing, intelligent harmonizers, quad pitch, octal chorusing, a great built in wah... the list goes on and on. It has dual 12AX7 preamp tubes that can be run along with the solid state pre in parallel for tube distortion and digital cleans at the same time. It has 2 pairs of stereo outs (the built in Vintage 30s plug into the back) so that you can power up to four cabinets. FOUR! They were about 15 years ahead of their time and cost around $2000 when they came out, but can be found for about $400 today.
When these pics were taken, just for fun, I would run the tube halfstack and Johnosn/Mesa via an A/B/Y switch, using the tube amp for raw tone, and the Johnson for color and goofiness.
I can't say enough good things about these amps... so I bought 2!

Can you guys help me out. I'd like to buy a tube guitar amp. But I'm not into crazy loud stuff so no half stacks needed. If I wanted something that could get as loud as say, 100-150 solid state amps, how many watts, in general, would I need? What amp that is available commonly used would you reccomend? This is for a driving hard rock band.
I'm in. I'm a bass player first but have played guitar equally as long and for a few bands.
Current set up is Epiphone black beauty w/ Dimarzio super distortion p/ups and old 90's Ibanez Saber. Line 6 HD 147 and Jumbo Boogie 4x12. To tell the truth my buddy has had my guitar gear for about 2yrs now. Will post pics soon. I know the rule no pics and all.

I've been enjoying play guitar more lately than I have playing bass. So i'll gladly join. My guitar is an Agile AL-2000. It's fantastic. My first guitar was some early-mid 90s Aria pro II.

Just last night my bro-in-law, nephew, his friend and I spent a couple three hours on acoustics out in his backyard. Lots o' fun. Got to use my new Snark clip on tuner as did everyone else. Big hit! Works well and has a bright display for dark time use.

Awesome. Here's my Agile. The finish is called rootbeer.
I love it but overall i'm a single coil kinda guy so my next guitar will either be a tele or strat.
Well, for the first time in a long time, I am back to primarily guitar (lead and rhythm) and keyboards in my current band.
We've done about eight gigs, and it's going really well. I have a parallel history of playing a variety of stringed instruments for about the last 35 years.
I miss playing bass live, but I have my hands full with other duties, so it's all good. I'm primarily a Telecaster player (loaded with everything from the traditional single coils to a pair of humbuckers) or a Gibson design (leaning toward P-90s these days).
My most recent acquisition:

I am in your boat, man, I love love love Telecasters and Tele variants, they're my favorite guitars. You can do anything, any color, any accents, any woods, any pickup configs, to a Tele-style guitar and it'll still look and sound right. (You should show us some of yours!)
