I worked in music retail back when those basses were out - all the examples I saw were MIJ. This was a few years before Fender started manufacturing in Mexico.
this hasnt been figured out yet? power jazz special was a good guess, but the P pickups are standard (fender) config. in the banner.
im preety sure its a p bass but im not certain! although his hand positioning really annoys me when I look at it so whenever I log on I try not to look at it lmao
looks like its a P/J setup with about 20 frets. I'd say its a fender special but it doesnt look like the back of the neck is painted black, and the body proportion is off.
My guess is an old Yamaha - don't know the model name but the guy in The Haunted used to play one...
well i still havent found out yet.john replied to me,and said he wasnt sure,but he was going to ask around.but also he basically said what alot of other people thought,that he thought it looked like a p/j combo.
