Yes, I do believe they have. They're the sweet spot I've been looking for tone-wise for my Cirrus, delivering the fat low end that the bass needs, balancing out (but not diminishing) the honky midrange that the bass projects, and delivering just enough highs and high mids to make each note and transient present and clear without being harsh.

It's like going on an all day hike through the Swiss Alps, and finally finding that pebble in your shoe that was mildly annoying you even though you were enjoying yourself. Just makes playing this bass that much sweeter.

Hey Dudes,
So I recorded another clip for you.
These are the MJC Ironworks Stainless Steel. Gauge 40-100.
My signal path is my USA Peavey Cirrus 4 into my Line 6 Bass Pod XT with the Eden Traveler/ Eden 4x10 sim into Garage Band. No compression or extra EQ added. The EQ on the Cirrus and the amp sim are flat. At one point I do add a little Sansamp sim from the Pod during some pick work.
My first impression? I dig these strings! I was a little worried about the lighter scale and they do feel slightly floppy.I'm having to adjust my ham hock style! I will pick up another set in the regular gauge 45-105 set when these wear out.
To me they feel like a cross between DR Hi Beams and Lo- Riders? Which is AWESOME because I like both sets!
They are quite smooth for a stainless steel set and flexible no doubt due to the lighter gauge but the tension feels good as well. As you can hear from the clip the strings aren't rattling much and I didn't adjust the Cirrus' neck at all after installing them. Did you guys know these string ship in a cool tin as well? When they arrived I was a little worried about the E string. It was kind of rolled up oddly and it had a few kinks in it when unravelled but so far no ill effects. Are they worth the $25 price? Im not sure yet. Are they worth $10 more than the set of Labella Rx's I have on my Geddy Lee Jazz? Dunno but They feel great! Lets see how long they last...

Aww hell.. I'll tell. Thinking doing a 'metal edition' string comparison. Using the sansamp model on my zoom bass multistomp, and drop the volume before it so its not too over powering. Kinda influenced by Alex webster

Apologies for the sloppy playing but was in a rush.

The signal chain is -
Musicman Stingray (flat eq)> Zoom MS-60B (volume drop to a passive level> sansamp sim ,bass -1, treble +3, presence +4, 50/50 blend, 80 gain > Eden amp + cab sim flat eq) > instrument input of Focusrite Saffire 6 > mixcraft 4



As much as I liked the dunlops, the ernie balls in my opinion win this particular round.

Yeah I dont know what it is about them? Good tension, not too much, not too floppy. Really bright and I like the mids as well and fairly smooth. Just a really good string and I dont feel I need the 105 E.
