Good job Magic, they have come a long way and proved quite a few nay-sayers wrong along the way, we are just starting to come out of our shells.

Agreed, on both counts.

The Magic have some growing to do to keep up with the Lakers.

I despise The Rapist (aka Bryant), but there is no doubt that he is the single best player in the NBA at this time, so hat's off to him.

And Mike, I wasn't blaming the no-call on The Rapist for the Magic losing the game Thursday as much as I was decrying the fact that yet again, there was an obvious, blatant, unnecessary foul on him that wasn't called, and I cannot stand that part of the game.

Guess I gotta go eat crow over in Maki's beer thread now...



...hey, at least my team made it to the finals, which is a damn sight better than almost every other team in the NBA did this year!

I can't call LA out though,...Montreal did the same thing when the Habs (Hockey) advance to just the conference semi-finals
eyebrow in 2008. I realize that it's just a few and not representative of the bulk of Basketball fans.

Either way,...I just thought I'd take a jab at the Basketball Playoff thread.

I always love that during basketball riots it's always the guys that look like they've never played a game of basketball in their life that are responsible for the most damage.

Yeah, that guy in the middle has the Lakers jersey, but when you're as wide as you are tall I don't think you're skying for too many dunks. Bet he sets great picks though.

I think Denver would be burning if our team actually won a title again. It's been awhile though.

yeah, this is nothing compared to when the Lakers won in 2000. our first title in 12 years (since the Magic Johnson days!) and the city went nuts.

It means that guy probably gives very inconsistent effort when rioting.

Yeah, but when he's on, he's a brilliant molotov cocktail thrower/police car overturner/looter/bonfire feeder...there's no discipline of rioting he doesn't excel at!

The next barracade he picks up will probably get taken from him and run into a sign on the other side of the street. Lackadaisical rioting is painful to watch.
