I think it is meant to go beyond the cerebral thought process and hit emotions. E-motions are how ruling bodies move people to agree. Fear may be one in recent memory. I think the vision of a symbol being destroyed is much more Impressive (imprints on the mind better than a well written speech by a college grad. i am all for grunts and gestures, because all this arguing over words just leads to semantics and a LONG court process than annoys me. I am not a patient man, my mind changes often...so this system does not work for me.

I am angry because I believe that if you can not take care of yourself and you reproduce then you are weakening the gene pool. I do not want a baby sitter in general.

But to be a little more specific;
Inducing and exciting fear to get the results you desire from your forced followers.

Saying that we want to spread freedom and democracy in iraq when there are other places under worse turmoil (Aftrica...see the news you don't see on CNN for details). I could handle..."we want money, power, and oil....screw anyone who gets in the way."

I can not buy beer on sunday because Christian morals still hold power.


but really, its a good system for the general well being....it like any system an be manipulated to perform different deeds.

Yes, but it doesn't articulate your problems. Kinda hard for people to get behind, isn't it? sure some people will join the rally, but are people drawn to low-substance shows of anger the kind of people you want helping you accomplish something? Screaming at the top of your lungs draws a lot of attention and leaves an impression, but unless your screaming words, your message is lost.

You cannot buy beer on Sunday because christian morals wrote those laws year ago and no one has gotten off their ass and made a real effort to change that law. It's a dumb law, I agree. But I'm not buying the "oppression" argument until someone has done more (or something) to get it changed besides a letter to the editor and a small flag-fueled fire on a sidewalk.

Anyway, my point was that burning the flag isn't the OMG!!!!! protest many people think it is. There are people that get offended by it (my dad, at 63, will break your hands), but it just doesn't carry the weight people think it does and it surely doesn't forward much of a point. That's all.

On the flip side, it's hard to find something in my size when they are having a sale. There's always plenty of stuff in XL, XXL, and S, but not much in M or L.

But what does it matter? My wife buys all my clothes for me anyway.

The content of the sale rack are usually made up of the things everyone else was smart enough to not buy. Yuor wife dresses you? Mine does, too. But if I bought strictly off the sale rack it would look like my mom dressed me. I know this from experience.
