My "little toe in the water" test investment in Tesla has appreciated enough to pay for half of the trimotor Cybertruck I have on order (with about a year left before it's built).

Yep... we were both able to participate in the five to one stock split that just recently took place.

Couldn’t do the price for a Tesla, so I recently got this instead.
I might add, i bought this used as a returned lease vehicle, and I would never have paid the original sticker price for it. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but really love driving it. It’s way nicer than the ‘06 Prius i had for awhile. (Or it may be more accurate to say i prefer the Euro drive character to the (bland) Japanese feel.)

I don’t have one, but I know someone who does. They love it and drive it every day.
The problem they’ve had is with service. Tesla send technicians out to their house. But, it’s different ones, from different companies every time. They don’t like this. They’ve had assorted small problems, including the car not taking a charge. I don’t have any further Tesla knowledge.

I've had a Bolt for a couple of years now.

Only issue is the number of charging stations in AZ. Some states have a pretty good selection, AZ is still catching up. Great for around town though.

Is your i3 strictly electric, or is it one of the models with the small gas engine that is designed to extend the range of travel?

As these trucks are built and popularity increases, I'll be waiting to see how long before one of the big plow companies (Western, Meyers etc...) offers a plow to fit that truck.

Is your i3 strictly electric, or is it one of the models with the small gas engine that is designed to extend the range of travel?

Mine has the Rex (range extender), which is a bmw 2 cylinder motorcycle engine that provides about 80-90 miles in addition to the battery’s 130-ish range. The rex only powers the battery, it does not drive the wheels at all.

My brother recently got the S dual motor and going from stopped to over 100 mph* in a few seconds with no wheel spin or shifting was odd and neat.
Had a good time throwing it around.
Now I want one.

*(This action was done on a country road with no houses, trees or cross roads for miles.)

I think I'll finally end up with a Tesla truck at some point. I'm a big fan of Elon and the band Tesla, so it only makes sense for me to own one.
The cars are rad, I just don't like sitting that close to the ground.

Yes, I too only have that option. I posted on the Tesla support forum and received a response telling me that the enhanced autopilot is available only to current owners. Additionally I as informed that EAP was available only until the end of this month. If Thais is true then that, friends, sucks!

I think Tesla has been hinting for quite a while that there will a cutoff point where older models will no longer be upgradeable. This isn't surprising since the electronics in the older cars are probably now a couple generations behind the new models.

These options on FSD and EAP are known to change pretty much on a whim, but the trend is always upwards, the closer it gets to reality, the pricier it gets.

True enough, I'm sure, but they've also done a remarkable job on plug compatibility on the more recent models. My 2018 Model 3 came with the older non-FSD-capable computer, but the upgrade was simply a board swap and reboot (and was free, with the FSD purchase). That ability to upgrade in place doesn't happen accidentally.

Yeah, but my Tesla hasn't even been delivered yet. I'd think they'd want to sell a $4k upgrade rather than none at all.
