Hey Guys,
So I did a search, but given that the search function is so picky, I had a hard time coming up with results for 'T-Bass'.

I am very interested in seeing, hearing and hearing about those Trace Elliot T-Basses that I know are out there! IMO, the T-Bass is by far the best looking Jazz-style bass around, so let's see them!
(Status Graphite T-Basses are welcome too!)

I'd love to own one of these suckers...I seem to recall that Tom Bowlus had one for sale a year or so ago. Did you ever sell it, Tom?

I did trade mine for another bass, though I do miss it. But, I kinda went through a crazy 'J-Bass' acquisition period and realized that I had to thin the herd somehow. Plus, I had someone really interested in that bass, so that was ultimately what made the deal go down.

They are very good basses, IMHO.

Wow, thanks for all the replies everyone!

edit: After looking around a bit, I have to say that the new Status T-Bass is probably one of the nicest looking basses I've seen on the internet in the past couple of months. The one on the site with the figured maple body, natural finish and gold hardware just looks soooooooo good. The graphite neck also gives it a cool look and I'm sure it makes for a great feel as well as top-notch reliability. The only downside to these basses seems to be their hefty price; if I ever find one used, I'm gonna pounce on it, although I don't see why anyone would ever want to give theirs up.

Has anyone on here played one of the new Status T-Basses? Are they as sweet as I think they'd be?

I always wanted to play a T-Bass, but never could track one down to try out. I finally got my hands on one at a Guitar Center of all places, and go figure, it had the worst set-up I'd ever encountered. The strings were laying flat against every single fret. :(

Booooo. I've never played one either and I really want to. I just got a job, but I still doubt that I'll ever have enough scratch for one of the Status T-Basses in the next few years. They are oh so beautiful, though.

Mark Gooday of Trace Elliot/Ashdown history designed the TA T Bass, a very nice sounding and playing Bass and he still has a few available for any one seriously interested.

Ashdown also has a new series of J Basses that will be released in a few months.

You know it's a serious bass when it's issued with a Flight Case. Even MusicMan doesn't do that with their LE/BFR/Anniversary models... ;)

And is it me or was the T-Bass one of the first basses made to use a individual bridge saddle/"Mono-Rail"? I think it may be tied with Ibanez's Invalid Link Removed series (which was the very limited early '90s wood version of the Luthite EDA bass) on that piece of bass history - they both date back to 1990.

I believe this T-Bass was built in 1994 or 1995. This edition of fifteen 5-String (and fifteen 4-String) basses commemorates Trace Elliot's 15th Anniversary.

So, the serial numbers go like this:
4-1979 through 4-1994
5-1979 through 5-1994

mine happens to be 5-1990, although it was built in 1994 or 1995...
