ahhh BFC, sadly i dont know anything about them although i have heard one being played at the London Astoria. This was the amp that got me into Trace Elliot stuff. It sounded excellent just everything about it sounded and looked great if you can get it i would suggest getting it. Although the stairs part will be hard......i say go for it

£350 sounds about right - if you consider that most 4x10s on ebay go for over £200, and the 15's go for around £120-200.

Walk into the shop tell them it's gunna cost you a decent amount to get the cab fixed and offer £300. Then work your way up. I personally think that £400 isn't that bad a price either but I could be *way* off. <400 is good tho.

hey there, i'm new here. i already read a bit, but this is the first time i couldn't get an answer to my questions, so i signed up. perhaps it's asked before, but well, not knowing where to look, i didn't find any info on this thing:

it's a 2x12" unit i just bought from a bassist who bought it new, probably in the early nineties. it sounds surprisingly clear, with more highs than my trace 410, and more lows as well. i haven't played a lot on it yet, so i can't really say a lot how it works in a band etc.
since the serial- and modelnumbers are unreadable it's hard to find any info. is anyone here familiar with this thing? what's the modelnumber? how rare is it? (i've never seen it before...) what's the powerrating? the seller was pretty sure the rating is in the 200-250watt range, and 100% sure it's impedance is 8ohms.
by the way i'm planning on using it with my v-type head and perhaps combining it with a 410, but that's probably overkill in my situation, and i think the 410 won't add anything but volume considering the frequency response of the 212 unit.

haha, no, this one has been in the netherlands all it's life. but good to know there's at least two of them made...
yeah, sometimes it amazes me how much they designed. too bad i'm not gonna play on this one the first month or so due to transportation issues :hmm:

i would really have loved to have won the 2x12 on eBay... I really dug an EBS 2x12 I played to get an idea of the 2x12 sound before I bid on that cab. was great!

in time. when I'm famous you'll be seeing the custom Trace Elliot "Haigie" edition! :smug:

in the meantime, i'll be posting pix of my new stack later on tonight!

cool cool it looks pretty good doesnt look as though its been mis used at all. O yea after de badging one of my trace 4x10s i have decided it looked better with the trace logo so its now back on:Dalthough i need to glue down one corner as it sticks out a lil but still.

On another Trace Elliot subject...

Does anyone own or has played the last X series heads (AH1000-12, AH500-12) from the Gibson era TE? I'm talking about the one with the valve drive, harmonic emphasis, and noise reduction. I was curious how they compared to the SMX series as I have never even seen one of these heads.

BTW, if anyone spots one of those later AH1000-12 heads, please let me know.

Hey guys... just wanted to officially say that sometimes (perhaps not every time) there is a big plusside to live in the UK... one of those times are when your trying to sell your Trace Elliot GP7sm preamp and face 3 problems:

- There aint alot of people who uses preamps
- There aint alot of people who knows what Trace Elliot is (!)
- There aint alot of people who knows what it is worth...

put it up on sale on some sites, the only answer i got was from some a-hole who bid 800 S-crowns, which is about 55-60 Uk pounds or something like that... I dont know, maybe i thought it was worth alot more or something, but just wondering, it cant possibly be worth as little as 60£ now can it?

Not putting my preamp up for sale here... but if there is anyone who has an idea where i can sell my preamp for the right price, please give me a tip.

*ps* I wrote this out of 2 reasons, one was simply to bitch about swedish bassplayers knowledge about good equipment, and second to get a reasonable pricecheck to see so that im not WAY off for some reason...

thanks for your divided attention
