This was a bass I built when CallowHill was making parts for me. At this time, this is no longer available. Is it me, or does the lower cut-away look "deeper" for better access up high??
Which brings up the question......can you get an extended cut-away for better access as an option Nino?

Ahh...gotcha.
Thanks Nino.
BTW, here is the page/streaming video I spoke of earlier:
(Warning- Christian music content. NOT a post for any religious reasons. Just to hear a Valenti in a live band/mix)
http://www.kensingtonchurch.tv
Click on the "Lent Week 3"
Move the slider forward about 1/4 way.
Don't expect any chop laden playing. Just my Valenti in the mix with acoustic, electric guitars and drums.
Signal:
Bass set completly flat, pick-ups panned even (center).
Sadowsky pre with nothing boosted. VTC fully open.
Nordstrand J/MM pick-ups.
Demeter Compulator set with just a hint of compression
Line out from Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 post EQ.
EQ: bass at 1:30, mids at about 900hz/1k -mid cut at 11:00, treble flat, no bass boost/mid cut/treb boost engaged.
No processing at board except for over-all compression etc on full mix (nothing added to bass signal).
Mind you it is streaming video, so it does get squashed and crap.
AccuGroove Tri110 strickly for stage monitor.
It's all fingerstyle playing with a good bit of low B and some higher playing in spots.
Again, nothing flashy, just playing the parts.
Russell, hit the 'on demand' button and look for Lent 3.
While I havent found need for a preamp, but would agree on the magnetics. While Nordy's are nice and clear, they arent "in yer face" enough for me, anyway. I like the more agressive and seemingly "darker" ( really its lower HZ reponse) of other brands like AERO.
I do like the Spector sound, it mixes well in rock. I was thinking of what preamp would allow my single coil J5 to emulate that. Sadowsky isnt the answer as they seem too artificially "smooth" to my ears. YMMV of course.
Nino, I asked the vid production co if they could maybe do a short vid on the Valenti in action. I hope the headstock is clearly visible. See in a couple of weeks. Its professional and should be of "network" quality. Ralph ( owner) lives up here in Buff, but he's from BROOKLYN, so I asked him politely if he could help out this bass builder from his home town with a pro edited clip of the bass being played.

I like to be in the mix about like Paul McCartney in "Rain" off Revolver. I read somewhere he made the engineer put the bass 1db over everything else in the mix; which sounds right to me![]()
that's nice;
is it warmoth or usacg?
