Replaced the dead-ish DA ProSteels with new Dunlop nickels, and we'll see what happens this weeks gigs.
It plays out super fine.

Weighed it last night, and it's just a shade under 8lbs....very nice.

So far, so good.
I've tried over the last few years to find a P bass I could bond with. They're "where I come from," but I've been a solid J5 player for some years now.
If this one doesn't do it for me, I reckon I'll just say "uncle" on the P bass thing and be a happy J guy.

Gigged it last night in a 3 piece power trio kinda band
MBF800 and 15/6/1

It did just fine and I like it better than active pj's I've had recently

I didn't bring a backup J5, and I lived ;-)

Vultures...ha! People likin something and actually having cash are two pretty different things, IME

Two things
-really hard to set my J bass bias aside: and, all my J5's are active, fwiw
-for me, active seems to ruin the P bass thing. I have non idea why. Conversely, all my active J's have passive mode, and often just the little active buffering kick is all they need to "feel alive." The P bass thing is just different.

Also, I'm sure no one in the audience notices any of that ....
