My order is the homage to my Grandma who just passed away and left me a little dough enabling me to get this bass. Overall pretty "standard" The color is for my Grandma's beautiful blue eyes. The pearloid guard for her nails and overall decor.

Yeah, that bass is cool. Its actually the 2nd time I have owned it and will probably have to sell it again when Nino finishes my new build as I probably don't "need" 2 5 strings. It has an 18 v OBP-1 (boost only) preamp that gives it headroom for days. The 2 4s are basically twins except that one is Alder/Rosewood and one is Ash/Maple. I love it because they literally couldn't sound any more different than they do... and they say wood doesn't matter.

That's cool.

I have 2 identical Foderas (except for all of the woods) and my alder/Ebony/oak neck bass sounds quite a lot like my mahogany/Ebony/maple neck bass. Closer than I ever would have thought.

I think having a pair like yours (ash/maple and alder/rosewood) is smart. A pair like that from almost any bass builder should sound pretty different.

I am a big fan of matching headstocks, but that bass looks better without one IMO.

I will haven or keep my eyes open in case lowendmafia sells it down the road. I don't need 2 ash/maple 5ers really, but one never knows!

I can say one thing though... If he doesn't throw in the matching Fretwrap if he sells the bass, I'm walken!

Hahaha... Nice. I too prefer matching headstocks on basses, in fact this is the only jazz bass I have that doesn't have one. believe me, I've thought about sending it to Pat to get the headstock painted....

So I got a 3 hour full volume rehersal in last night with the rock cover band and all I can say is wow. I am so glad I went with the Nordy big singles and pre. Super quiet and punchy as hell.

The band rolled their eyes like usual when I pulled out a new bass AGAIN, but all told me to please keep the Valenti at the end of the rehersal. The bass is great for just about every style of music I will ever play.

She's a keeper for sure!

Here are two quick videos I recorded for some friends that had never seen me play. They are first take cuts recorded on an iPad... So mistakes are there, but I thought they were pretty ok... Both are Valenti basses.

Oh... And if you are a P bass with flats only type of person and everything else isn't "bass playing," these might not be for you.

What a coincidence, I went shopping online for a case for my new to me Valenti #25. Among all the other quality cases that exact Contego case stood out to me over all. And I had no clue Valenti used these cases for his basses. So I ordered one up yesterday. Wont have the Valenti insignia on it. My original case musta got lost in transition as I see many hands have owned #25 as I did a history check on it.

Its' a beautiful looking bass and YES punchy as hell with the Nordy Fat Stacks and Nordy pre. The neck is abit chunkier than I typically use and its abit of a heavy mother. Maybe that's why it's been passed around so much. It's looks really grab your eye, its tone is to die for but maybe the thicker neck and its' weight kept a few from making it a keeper.

I'm still in my honeymoon phase with #25 as I've only owned it going on two weeks. Lets see if I can last with her.

And yes Baird6869, I got the eye-roll-another-bass look/comments when I broke out #25 at blues jam first time last Wed. Damn right fellas. But she's not just any bass. She's my first Valenti. Because after playing her for the first set, I feel its' now stoked my GAS to have Nino make me one closer to my specs..........but #25's pretty darn close already.

Your bass looks killer.

I own some nice basses, but my new Valenti exceeded my expectations and I will absolutely be buying a new or possibly used Valenti PJ5 in the near future.

There is a nice one in the Classifieds right now for a great price (and in Canada!) but it doesnt have 24 frets. I really wish I could suck it up and buy it, but I am taking some pretty intense bass lessons and anything other than a 34" 24 fret 5ers screws me up more than normal.

I don't like bags with logos generally as they generally scream "steal me" but most people at my gigs have no idea what a Valenti is, which is cool with me.

I can't stand hard cases and never use them unless I sell a bass or have a rare travel gig.
