The infection doesn't kill you. It just reanimates you once you are dead. The zombie bites kill you but they don't reanimate you. The virus does that. So you can live forever with it but when you die you will come back to life.

So basically you are right....they need to headshot everyone that dies.

Last nights episode was pretty awesome. To have two of the main characters die in the last two episodes was good to keep you on your toes and keep it pretty fresh of "what will happen now" regarding the rest of the group. When Rick killed Shane it was a pretty epic moment and then when Carl shot him after reanimation. The season finale looks like it will be badass and hopefully an action packed fight for survival. Cannot wait until Sunday!

Kinda makes ya wonder why Rick hasn't shared the secret from the CDC guy to the group yet.

The CDC was never in the comic and I could be wrong about all of this. I thought for awhile that he told him his wife was pregnant but his surprise when she told him I think eliminates that theory. He also seemed shocked when Shane came back so maybe the CDC secret is something we haven't addressed yet.

I do apologize for revealing that info but I thought it was assumed to a good degree after last night's episode. I also just realized it's all over the Walking Dead Facebook page as well so I guess the script writers want that info out there as well. They said the info passed on by the CDC guy via whisper is going to be revealed in the next episode. Go to their Facebook page if you want to read the full interview.

I think if everyone knew that secret, they would give up hope. That seems to have been an ongoing theme this season more so than last season.

Daryl is one of my favorite characters for sure. I have a feeling he's gonna meet up with his zombyfied brother and won't be able to kill him or some interesting twist. :eyebrow:

I thought last night was a great episode. I am sure the actor who plays Shane is a wonderful human in real life, but I am SOOOOO glad his character is dead. Shane's death was long overdue.... just like them leaving Hershel's farm. I am SOOOOOOO tired of the damn farm.. time to move on!!!!

You could be right about the secret.

That would be a nice twist. How far are they from where they left him? Needle in a haystack for them to ever meet up.

From an entertainment purpose, sure. I don't think leaving the farm is a good idea from a survivalist's perspective. Sure, it's just a show, but they have sources of food and water. Tough to beat that.

OK I'm a week behind & I couldn't watch the new episode last night so forgive me but : Stupid Carl! If he shot that walker with what looked like a nice automatic pistol Dale would still be alive! The most upset I've ever been about a tv show. I don't watch tv.

I've not read the graphic novels/comic books, so I didn't know what the storyline mythology of the comic books to be in regards to what was the agency or cause of explanation behind the zombies. I've taken the T.V. series to be rather vague in early George Romero fashion, where no particular agency or cause is ever clearly defined. I must have missed any references to a viral cause as the determined mythology in the series. But hey, it's great zombie fiction anyways!

Regardless, I love the show as I've been a fan of modern zombie horror ever since I was kid who hit the movie theatres every weekend, around the era when George Romero created the modern zombie genre.

Agree. I'm a little bummed that that got spoiled for me.:scowl:

I think it's fair to discuss material that's already been broadcast, and to speculate, but I'd prefer not to have spoilers beyond that.

Last night's episode was great. Twists and turns and all that, and I'm already excited for how the next episode's going to go.

As for the two points being brought up:

a) There's no definitive amount of time that was clearly elapsed before Shane arose as a walker. The montage could've allowed it to be longer than just the few seconds that were shown between edits.

b) Why did the surrounding walkers at the end:

1) not notice or encounter Shane and Rick when they were walking only a few dozen yards away before entering the clearing?

2) not notice Shane and Rick when Shane fired off his gun?

3) suddenly notice Rick and Carl when Carl fired the gun?
