Except it's information from the comic that hadn't actually been introduced in the television series.

If it'd been presented as just speculation without noting that it was content from the author's printed work, it wouldn't have been as big a deal.

Again I apologize, but based on the information in the show I assumed most people were on board that it didn't take a bite to become infected anymore. Like I said, the information I said here is all over the Walking Dead Facebook page so they are under the assumption that this has been revealed. Straight from the writers and directors.

I know some spoilers from the comic, but not too much. That being said, let's say everyone is infected.

Now my mind goes back to anyone who has died recently. For one, how about the guys in the bar fight. At minimum 2 died from gunshots alone in the bar, and the other was eaten by walkers. It did not seem like the 2 in the bar were springing back to life anytime soon.

That could be a timing issue, but it still leaves things unclear in my mind. Especially since Randall was in their camp, they were exposed to the same things, etc...

To me, it's all speculation for now. Who knows if the show will handle things in the same light. They certainly haven't been explicitly following the comics thus far.

I thought that Rick made head shots with the gentleman in the bar? Canon for the show has been that the brain stem is the source of the zombie, so long as that's damaged, zombie is no more.

I thought Shane became a zombie b/c of Rick's knife & that the prisoner's reason for turning was still a mystery for now. Didn't Glenn & Darryl look at each other and say "***?" about there not being any bites? That question wasn't answered on the show.

I don't go on facebook, and I find it surprising that the makers of the show would be releasing that kind of info on facebook. If they are, they are, but are you sure that's not a fan's facebook page?

It was an official interview with the writers on the AMC Walking Dead Facebook page. Shane could be explained that way but on top of that you had the boy Shane killed and the two guards. I think they were trying to show you that pretty much anyone without a head shot is going to get back up. Now the infection thing might not every play out or be brought up but they are under the assumption that their reveal is saying everyone who dies will become a walker.

It's a timing thing. Most likely those guys are walkers now. But they may never bring it back up. The writer said they carefully only showed dead people that had head wounds. Even in the cars in the first episode.

Same here Darth, I had the infected knife pegged as the cause of Shane turning, which now may or may not be the case. But the rest (Randall) was still intended as a grey area as evidenced by the reaction of the cast.

Haven't visited that facebook site, have no intention, I also find that very surprising, won't be coming back here after this episode either.

And sorry to be so blunt, but you folks with the inside track on the plot, whether you got it from reliable facebook posts or the graphic novel itself, "Spoiler Alert" isn't that hard to type. Until it has been obviously revealed on the show, and if you have inside info that transcends innocent speculation (like we had on this thread), it's a spoiler.

All right. I guess you're off the hook for the spoiler then (but Coyote makes a good point about the post heading). Of course, that's pretty lame, and more evidence that the people who make this show are clueless as to how to create suspense. I would have liked to learn that at the same time the characters did, frankly.

Well I tried not to read here until I'd seen this latest episode - we don't get it here in the uk until Friday - but got sucked in.

Dammit, it's bad enough having to avoid the transatlantic delay without finding that some folk can't quite grasp the notion of not spoiling something for someone else?

Read the comic? Know what happens? Fine. Take your insight elsewhere. Please.

I avoided this thread all day yesterday for fear that eastcoasters would have an early post. Would really like to be able to enjoy it while staying current with just the television series. :)
