The Walking Dead Series 2

It's hard to watch these kinds of shows without thinking, "You stupid idiot! Don't do that or you're gonna stir up some zombies!"

What I don't get just yet is, how did Shane become a Zombie after Rick killed him?

Or something.

I just wonder if they poop

But they show signs of decomposition. There's a reason why we're not decomposing-- it kills us. By kills us, I mean it kills our cells. Ultimately we're a composition of living, specialized cells, working in balance to allow us to continue existing. Those cells form organs and together they form you and me.

Kill off an organ and you kill everything. They work in balance. That's why we have organ transplants, and you die if you don't get one. You can't just feast on living human flesh to replace malfunctioning organs. Cellular respiration keeps muscle fibers twitching, brain cells oxygenated, and basic repairs functioning.

You'll want those.

I'm starting to think that that's what was whispered at the end of season#1 by that guy in the CDC. He knew it was a naturally occurring disease.
If bit :24 hours to 'braaains', because the virus is not as strong
Snuff it and get exposed: Immediately, or close enough.

After all it had to start somewhere/somehow.

Theory #2 Alien Invasion: What better way to destroy a planets indigenous population yet leave it intact enough than by substituting your bacteria where matter is broken down and returned into the system for theirs? Terra forming the long way
All sorts of biological mayhem will ensue..........

:D

1. Chill out with spoiling comic stuff. You might think it's harmless because this is a thread about the TV series. But some of us are reading the comic too. So to come in here to discuss the TV show only to be bombarded with blatant comic spoilers that aren't even concealed is annoying.

2. Lori needs to die and have her fetus claw it's way out of her Alien style. Would be awesome if it happened while zombie Lori was attacking one of our group members. (wild guess)

3. It sucks Shane died. But it was pretty clear he was never going to submit to Ricks authority. He was also biggest source of corruption for Carl. I would have liked to see Shane actually make it to the other group and cause more ruckus for our group in the future due to his inside knowledge. But it's ok.

4. Otis needs to be in the zombie horde. Maybe kill one of his family members.

5. Hopefully with Dale gone T-Dog will get some real screen time. It sucks Dale didn't even try to ask him for support at the "trial". They seemed close. T-Dog has basically done nothing all season but walk and stand around in the background. Should have had at least one episode with him doing a supply run or errand or something that would give him a good solid chunk of dialogue.

6. The farmlands better become uninhabitable after the last episode of the season.

Rick is a dick. Shane was just frustrated and the circumstances made him crazy in the end. That could happen to anyone. Perhaps he wouldn't have been so stressed if Rick would have listened to him and not kept going on these wild goose chases that kept getting people killed. In my mind, Shane's approach to solving problems is pretty much dead-on in most of those scenarios. He didn't help his cause necessarily by making unilateral decisions, but I don't know why Rick has to have authority to make those decisions either.

Also in my mind, Rick is Carl's problem, not Shane. He's a crappy father and husband as I see it. Seems like he cares about his oath to everyone else above his own family.

I'll also add that Rick is a horrible excuse for a friend. If he truly had a best friend in Shane, then he should listen to his advice and heed it at least one in a while. He definitely shouldn't 't overrule him constantly and show lack of respect for his opinion, especially one that managed to keep a large community of people safe until Rick came along and started getting everyone killed. Such a best friend might be worth listening to, don't you think?

Rick is the only character on the show that gets on my nerves. He needs a country whoopin' something fierce.

I'll give it to you guys, Rick has certainly not been the most upstanding character on the show, but consider this: Shane has had a constant attitude problem from the very beginning, and although some of it is understandable, Shane has thought about and tried to kill Rick on several occasions in the past, prior to this past episode. Dale knew full well what was going on and saw it in Shane's eyes that he would deceive and scrounge his way to get back to the top.

Shane and Rick's relationship may have been salvageable under normal standards, but given the situation they were in and Shane's unrelenting mindset, there was no going back. Rick stood up to protect his family and his dominance in the group, and it had to happen for the longevity of everyone. It's a dog eat dog world and at this point, I think the writers have made it clear that no one is safe.

I'm no fan of Rick either, but for the life of me I can't figure out whose death his decisions were responsible for. Maybe my mind is going. Who did he 'get killed'? I don't think Otis' death is on him.....
His decision making to me is responsible for a lot of things. For me the biggest culprit is him running off to save folks while leaving his helpless wife and young boy behind in a world full a wandering zombie hordes. I understand wanting to help others, but not at the expense of losing your family. His priorities are not in order at all. No way I'd leave my wife and son's side. I'm not sure why he's got authoritarian control at this point. It seems to me the others are capable of making better decisions than he.

Shane seemed to be alright when Rick first appeared. Lori is the one who screwed up and made things harder on Shane. She shouldn't have treated him like she did. She contributed to his loss of control as much as anyone. She's the second most annoying person on the show after Rick. Both of them are going to get people killed. She left her son behind to go look for her idiotic husband, who left to look for some old man who decided he wanted a drink. That's stupid. Almost got herself killed, and wasn't worried about zombies attacking her son while she was gone either it seems.

Shane is the only one who had practical rules from the beginning. "Don't build a large fire at night which would attract zombies." That makes sense. However on the farm, they seem to leave the house lights on all night long, sitting around on the porch chatting it up, with tents setup around it with fires burning. No order, no control. Just random, bleeding-heart decisions by Rick ruling the day.

Again, Shane's delivery is questionable. His decisions made sense however from a survival standpoint. Rick is the one who has been confused about what he needs to do from the start. It just so happens that he has leadership characteristics that make others stupid enough to trust him.

You still haven't explained what huge calamities he has been responsible for. What are they?
