Had the Rogue Chocolate Stout yesterday, to be honest I really didn't like it.
Speaking of the select few "good" beers I don't like, I generally love Southern Tier Brewery (one of the best ipa's out there); but they have one beer, "Crem Brulee" which is just no good. Could hardly finish it.

On that note, I don't "get" IPAs of any variety. Every last one I have ever tried is a one sip and dump it out.
I was seriously ticked off when I picked up a six of my favorite New Belgian a few weeks ago only to get home and find that some jackass had swapped out a couple of them for an IPA.
Mmm definitely concur about Southern Tier IPA. One of the richest tasting IPAs I've ever had.
My wife is the same, hates IPAs with a passion. Except, for some reason, Pliny the Elder, which she really enjoys despite it being one of the hoppiest beers in existence. I'm not sure what it is - maybe the additional sweetness balances out the hops.
I'm on The Old Speckled Hen from the Morland brewery here in the U.K, it's got a great character and as renowned amongst the hardcore real aler's, Greene King IPA is not bad, but IPA's not my thing.
BTW, I know this is a crap shoot kind of question but.....What, in your opinion, is the best nationally (or even internationally) available IPA? I love the stuff and, other than a few other brews such as the blueberry lager I drink so much of, it's really what I look for mostly when I go beer shopping.
Amoungst the aler's I know Wye Valley HPA is the favourite here but I don't think they export, great brewery everything they do is pretty good.
If I had to stick with one IPA it would probably be Bear Republic's Racer 5. Classic citrusy IPA, 7% rather than the full-on 9-10% of some of my other faves. There's other IPAs that go further in one direction or another, but this one is well-balanced and drinkable.
Not expensive, not hard to find (in these parts, anyway). The brewery will ship direct to Ohio if you can't find it locally.

I thought the Racer 5 was sort of blah for an IPA but that might be because I think IPAs should not be balanced. 
For me the quintessential IPAs are Stone, Odells, and Dogfish Head 60 minute.

I sort of agree ... especially about the Stone ... but the Racer 5 is something I can happily sit down and clear a sixer of and enjoy the last one as much as the first. With the more intense IPAs one is delicious and interesting, but by the third I'm getting tired of that degree of intensity.
All the ones you mentioned are excellent beers as well, no argument there.
Seen that at my local yummy beer shop, not tried it yet. Thanks for the recommendation - I know what I'm going to get on my next "yay, it's Friday" visit.
Going to celebrate a friend's birthday this evening. He's also about to become a dad for the first time so this is going to be a good Scotch evening.
Warming up on the regular suspects: Pliny, Delerium Tremens, Brother Thelonius + a sixer of 21st Amendment's "Back In Black", a "black IPA":
Tried one about an hour ago (yay for working from home!) and it's ... unthreatening. Tasty, but maybe a little too restrained. Not at all bad though. Worth a try if you're wanting something different and a full-on IPA is slightly more than you can handle.

Ooo, Oatmeal stout is right up there with Bass for me. Just can't have but about two of those and I'm ready for a couple few more than that.
