We're pretty lucky to have so many fine micro-brews in Québec. There's always something new to try.
I enjoy them all; but I have a soft spot for German style lager. Does anybody from la belle province know of any locally brewed beer that tastes something like, for instance, Beck's??

No prob. I'm hoping it catches on. It almost seems that most micros either don't make a Scotch ale or it's a bit on the lighter side.
I think some are Scottish Style Ale's like Old Chub and some are Scottish Ale's such as McEwan's or Kilter Lifter which are completely different beer's.
My drummer just turned me on to the Budweiser Chelada. It's like the micheladas I special order in the Mexican restaurants I frequent. Mighty tasty, I actually guzzled down 6 cans watching football yesterday.

When a beer tastes good, you don't need to guzzle. The "beer snobs" debate is like the equivalent of some inhaling 4 McDonald's cheeseburgers instead of eating something juicy and off the grill.
I don't get this.
The beer tasted good, and I guzzled it. I think the guzzling was because I was really thirsty.
In fact, after the first two, I stopped guzzling and started savoring. Yes, it was just like something juicy off the grill.
My addiction to Theakston's Old Peculiar is beginning to bother me, I'm enjoying it a bit too much, it's winning out at the mo', it's there (for the last week : )
The idea is that if you love it, and consequently decide to eat fast or guzzle it all, your reflexion sounds like "OH I LOVE IT I MUST END THIS PLEASURE AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE."

Holy cow! This stuff smells AMAZING out of the bottle. Like a citrus punch with a little peach scent thrown in. The taste is thick and pretty heavy, though. It doesn't do a whole lot to hide the 12.5% ABV, though it does better than some lower contents I've come across, and it's one of the smoother high-content IPAs I've come across. I will admit, though, that I'm not a big IPA drinker.

I had a beer last night called 21st Amendment Brew Free or Die IPA. Ordered one just because the name is cool. It was OK, nothing special. They did their homework on marketing, that's for sure.
I've had a bunch of theirs and they're all "OK, nothing special". A solid B+ all the way down the line. The only really different thing is that they're usually available in cans, making them the best option when you can't take bottles but don't want to drink bland mega-brew swill.
I've been happy to see that more companies are canning beer again. I used to go on fishing trips where we couldn't bring bottles. Now I can take a good IPA, wheat beer, etc.

Yep. Maui Brewing has a pretty nice coconut porter in cans (and some other styles too), which is available on the mainland now -- at least where I live.

Had some Spaten Optimator last night. It was really tasty, but for some reason drinking two of them left me feeling off for hours, even after the buzz was gone. I know its a relatively high alcohol brew (7.something%), but I usually handle Belgian Ales and other high alcohol brews just fine.

Coconut porter....that sounds interesting!
I hope within the next 5-10 years, bottles are used on a very limited basis. The light and oxygen protection of a can is superior. Cans take up way less space, less fragile, lighter to transport, etc.
Ska Brewing Co's IPA is good and in a can. Big Sky has their wheat beer and Moose drool canned.
I mostly buy beer bottles for my homebrewing.
