The what beer are you drinking (and or rating) thread.

Anyone have a particular recommendation for a really good Xmas ale. So far this season, I've enjoyed Great Lakes (duh), Thirsty Dog, and Troeggs Mad Elf.

My current fav this year...
Sierra Nevada Celebration (ref. my post on the last page)

A couple other notable choices...
Anchor Christmas Ale (ref. Uncle Fluffy's post on the last page)
Samuel Adams Winter Lager (not staggeringly awesome, but quite tasty)

I'd take the SN Celebration over the Anchor. The Celebration is something you can happily drink more than one or two of - it's a nice hoppy front with a good malty back. The Anchor is just - well - tasty but strange. Couldn't drink more than two without hunting down the emergency Tecate stash.

yuengling, pbr, and blue moon are all i'll ever need =)

I also like Yuengling lager, especially on tap. It is more common in bars now, and IMO is a much better alternative than most of what is offered in the typical bar. Which means I no longer have to cringe when I ask what beers they have at the bar, haha. At home, however, where I have a choice, I'm going for the really good stuff.
On my bar gig tonight though, as I mentioned a few posts earlier, I get free Spaten Optimator! :bassist:
