No need to speculate, here’s an article describing the technique and music used to drive Noriega out of the Vatican’s embassy in Panama City when we went after him for drug trafficking and election rigging. The aural siege lasted three days before complaints from the Holy See got POTUS to call off the assault.
While it’s the most well known use of this tactic, it is by no means the only time its been used.

I'm definitely not trying to be political here. But I was fascinated to learn via this mornings news that playing songs from this "list" is becoming an accepted way of attempting to disperse crowds. A sonic fire hose if you will. I wonder if how this makes the songwriters feel? What songs would you blare from a loudspeaker if you needed to disperse a crowd?

I think the Kars 4 Kids band could be massively improved by canning their rhythm section and replacing them with this dynamic duo :D ...
