There's something to be said about the wait...

Yeah I left work early to get my new bass on Wednesday. I couldn't wait.

Thanks. I get my MMs directly from them. They'll change minor things up for me, but I wouldn't say it's to spec. Black p/g isn't available on the white stock models, and I'm getting mine with a gig bag as opposed to HSC. I never use cases and they just take up a lot of unnecessary room. Need a new gigbag, too.

Should add that Brian Ball was my artist rep when I got a deal with them way back when. Now he's president :) (and still my rep). Didn't know that till I wrote to him regarding this. Should add too that I think that all the guys (and girls) at EBMM are pretty awesome, and not just cuz I have a deal. I truly believe they care more about making great instruments and making people happy than they do about selling as many guitars as they possibly can. They seem like genuinely nice people. Been to NAMM a few times in support of (and performing for) other companies, and they still made me feel right at home. I got the sense they had that same effect on everyone.

1-1/2" (38.1 mm)

All the specs are here Caprice Bass | Basses | Ernie Ball Music Man

Dude! I thought that was just me. I see you're in NYC, so maybe thats part of it. So much easier to carry around a gig bag than a case. Unless you're touring and theres a chance of the bass getting smashed under something i dont see the point to a hsc; never had a problem without one.

Also, awesome bass! looks great. Its cool you can get little custom things changed. Would you be able to get the neck in gloss for example?
For some reason i really prefer glossy necks to satin, but they only do that on the "classic" models.

And yes, EBMM is really killing it. Their basses have always been great, but im loving all the new models both on guitar and bass. Cool color options and special runs. Their website is freaking amazing, great demos everywhere. Really amazing company that actually seems interested in moving forward, trying out new designs, specs, etc.

Well, it happened almost exactly as I predicted!
I had to go out for 30 minutes & when I came back the notice was on my door.

Now I can't pick up my package until Monday!
meanwhile, it has another chance to get thrown from a truck before then

update:

UPS is only 3 miles from me, so I took my notice over there & they gave me my package.
All I had to do was wait 10 minutes for the driver to get there.

Then I got it home & realized the GC guy down there threw in 0.045" - 0.100" strings, even though I clearly told him I wanted 0.45" - 0.105"
these are pretty much useless for Drop D, and especially D Drop C

update2: DOH!
the preamp in this thing is shot
I've got to turn my amp up all the way, gain & volume, just to get a quiet practice volume out of it :banghead:

Argh, I can't win for losing with GC & UPS!~

I made calls & influenced the shipping GC in Las Vegas to set my package to will call. They did, but when it arrived here it got put on a truck & sent out for delivery.
3-1/2 hours later the status was changed to "The receiver requested this package to be held for pickup at the UPS facility.", but now it's out on the truck & I won't be able to pick it up at 14:00.

So instead of just waiting for me there, it's been thrown on a truck, and will now get thrown off the truck again this evening :bored:
and I'll be lucky to get it today instead of tomorrow

I don't seem to have difficulty with sellers and shippers. What am I doing wrong?

I used to not have any troubles, I'd just logon to UPS and set my delivery to will call, then show up at 14:00 on the day it arrived & collect it.
Guitar Center changed their shipping policy since then & now you can't change the delivery to will call on your own. Only GC can do it, and only the store you bought it from.

My delivery panned out just fine today, it was there waiting for me at 14:00, but I'm pretty sure it went out on a truck at 07:30 this morning & was subsequently returned to the depot.
