Take a national day off to watch a horse race

Excel at sports we don't even play here.

Decide the only way to legally enjoy a cigarette and beer at the same time is to buy a house.

Put up with slower internet than some 3rd world countries have.

Build an enormous, world famous opera house for a nation that couldn't name an opera production if it slapped it in the face :D

This, my friends, is Australia's finest beer...

Trust me. Find it.

From someone who has managed pubs and clubs for over 20 years, is really into good beers from around the world and even lives in the town where it is brewed, i have to disagree. Not even in my top 5.

I prefer many of the Little Creatures or James Squire brews. But it's a personal thing just like music.

(I just had to go back and correct the word Squier as my phone defaulted to the instrument spelling )

I have only been to Sydney and Melbourne briefly, but those are among the very few places I would even consider moving to from Seattle. I had not moved to Seattle yet and was on tour with the rugby club I played on. To say we had a great time would be a complete understatement. The Aussie sides we played beat us as far as score was concerned, but being numb-skull American football type tacklers, they called us "courageous" tacklers. I think that translates into idiotic kamikaze tacklers with no brains. I would go back in a heartbeat, given an opportunity. It left an incredibly favorable impression. Plus it's a whole country full of Aussies!
