Yeah. Somewhere back then I found a schematic for a small, weak kinda taser. It was a nine volt battery, a couple transistors, a couple capacitors and a push button switch. You built the circuit. Then put two metal screws in holes in the lid of a pill bottle. Connected the output to the screws. When you released the button it sent a jolt to the screws. Wasn't big but it would get your attention.None, it just tingled.
Back in ninth grade (circa 1976), over Christmas vacation, my mom and aunt decided I would look better with permed hair. My hair was long, well over my ears but not quite down to my shoulders. I was the first boy in my school to get one, and sure got teased a bit. However, over the next several months there were more than a few others who got a perm, so it eased the anxiety. Still, it wasn't my favorite high school memory, although I can still smell the odor of that perm solution!
I don't remember those. Probably would have tried one. I switch back and forth between mustard and mayo. Both good.
Was mustard a special ingredient?
I used to read that book ad nauseum as a kid…
I looked it up, apparently mustard wasn't/isn't typical on a Whopper. So the Mustard Whopper dropped the mayo, ketchup, and pickles and added mustard while keeping lettuce and onion. Was mustard a special ingredient?
Yep. Normal Whopper is mayo and ketchup.I looked it up, apparently mustard wasn't/isn't typical on a Whopper. So the Mustard Whopper dropped the mayo, ketchup, and pickles and added mustard while keeping lettuce and onion.
I haven't had a Whopper in at least 40 years. Prolly closer to 60.Yep. Normal Whopper is mayo and ketchup.
Scarry's "Best Storybook Ever" was my niece's favorite childhood book. She's 49 now.
One Christmas my brother in law put a 9 volt battery in his pocket to later install it in a toy for his son. He started yelling and frantically digging at his pocket, much to the confusion of the rest of us. Apparently, a coin had been touching both poles on the battery and got quite hot.Like a lot of kids of the '60s/'70s, I risked life and limb in many various ways. But for some reason, I never had the guts to test a 9V battery with my tongue. I mean, it was just a 9v battery! How much damage did I think it could do?
I had that happen to me.One Christmas my brother in law put a 9 volt battery in his pocket to later install it in a toy for his son. My kids born in the early 90's loved that book. Around that time, I bought a "multimedia kit" and installed it on a Compaq business computer. I can't remember the brand of the kit (not Creative), I bought it at "The Wiz". The bundle included Richard Scarry's Busytown. We had a lot of fun playing it.I used to read that book ad nauseum as a kid…
I also found a copy of The Best Word Book Ever in one of those little free libraries. It really takes me back, that’s for sure!
There was a cult of 80s kids who were into "The Boxcar Children".My kids born in the early 90's loved that book.
