Funny, those prices don't seem all that low, given the cost of some of the lowend models available today.

Based on the economy in the 1960s, guitars were not cheap. My mother bought me an Audition guitar in 1966 at Woolworth's for $35.00. Considering that minimum wage was $1.40, that was a quite a bit of work she had to do to pay for that guitar. I greatly appreciate my mother for buying me my first guitar and my drum pad, sticks, and drum instruction book at age 10.
