I still have a Maxell umbrella, used it a few days ago.
When people ask, What the heck is Maxell? I say, "They made an early version of the USB Stick for music.

I was a loyal Maxell customer as soon as I was old enough to buy them.
From one of my Amazon wishlists (department: cool item, but most likely won't buy):
Maxell XLII-90's were IT for mix tapes in my heyday...and I had a poster of the chair dude at one point. Think it went missing in a previous move

I mostly used Maxell's but TDK and BASF were good in a pinch.
Anything but Memorex; they were horrible.
