Courageous cat and minute mouse.
Watched as a kid. Later found out it was made by Bob Kan3, creator of Batman and made as a parody of it. Shown here in the catmobile. His arch enemy was a frog voiced by Edward G. Robinson.
There's one of those sitting at my Mom's house. Was my dads.
Dad had one and we kids took care of that. Must have been a kit. He built all his own hi fi stuff...Heathkit. Heathkit was also my first guitar amp... and it had reverb!
Carnation may no longer make the Breakfast Bars the same way; but, they now have Breakfast Essentials Nutrition Bars. I don't know how they compare to the originals.
The oldest trick in the book: A candy bar disguised as nutrition. Some things never change. I remember the muffin craze when I was in school. There was enough sugar in those things to stop a rhino's heart - basically cake without frosting, but marketed as healthy.
Lol, I wasn’t fooled by the name, but I still loved Carnation’s “Instant Breakfast.” I preferred the chocolate mix (add to milk), but it did come in several flavors. Nice chocolate milk. Healthy? Lol, but neither is all that bacon I eat!
The chain is still extant in some form, but they don't look like this any more. My high school debate team actually stayed at one of these places when we traveled to a tournament. I believe the term I coined for it was "Pimpdillyicious."

The same was true of similar motels of the era. Something about those places just doesn't make for a sense of ease and relaxation. Maybe it's the door that opens directly to the outdoors, and/or people passing by the big plate glass window next to it. Even with the door and curtains "closed," the whole outer wall is more or less just a veneer rather than a barrier.
What? You weren't getting authentic Old English castle atmosphere?
Well, with four guys to a room, the smell was probably pretty close.
