Things You Don't See Anymore Part 3

Yeah, namely me at one of my jazz trio gigs!!! :( Or any gig for that matter. (I know I’m preaching to the choir here..maybe in 2021..for all of us..)

How many of us in our 50s had one of these in high school or college?

I was in a band in the early 1980s that one of the other members and I had written many songs and we wanted to record demos of them. We got a Fostex 4 track machine that cost about $1,500 and we took a loan out in my name because the other members could not get a loan. I still have some of the cassette tapes of those recordings we did in our rehearsal space. The sad part is that we were slated to go to a studio and record an album and release a few singles but we fired a girl who was in the band and never finished the album. I wish we would have. People really liked our songs. The first single was going to be a song that I wrote the music and one of the other guys wrote the lyrics.

Nice. I'm not familiar with that one. The team that did Thunderbirds created 3 other shows that didn't make it to the colonies. One was about underwater subss or such. The other was
Fireball XL-5, i think. (spaceships)
Stingray (?) was the subs.
Captain Scarlet (conflict twixt Martians and Earthers, rather dark)
Thunderbirds
Supercar

Can't recall if there were others.

Anybody recognize the bit of picture in the background of my Supercar model upthread? Another bit of lost history.

FAB, y'all!

B.

Some of my gear from the mid-'80s, though most of it dated well before that. The cab was a fender "pyramid", the Univox head was a 60 water. At the time the local music shop had an actual pile of assorted tube heads priced at $1/watt. The bass is a 1985 Yamaha BB300 that I
got brand new for graduation that year ($199 new in the box). The Beatlesquese bass was a Univox ($25 used).
