Oppenheimer was a fascinating person, but I doubt he'd have been the one to tell you that. That book is eye-opening. I was also fortunate enough to correspond a bit with the historian/author, Martin Sherwin, who did the research, and was kind enough to reply to an inquiry I made. Easily one of the most pleasant and memorable interactions I've had.Dang...even scientists looked like hard-boiled detectives back then!
Like I said: Highly recommended reading. The Pulitzer that book won is very well deserved indeed.
