Returnable milk bottles. (Pop bottles too.)
I still get my milk from a farm and return my glass bottles, they have a $2 deposit. Got a roll of masking tape that is just for putting my name on the bottom of the bottles so they can add my deposit back when they process them after pickup day.
Yup, there is cream on top.

In a side note regarding the visible V8...
I was sitting watching my brother build it one day. He was assembling the part you can see (not a car guy, but I think its the valves?) where there are 8 grey pieces on a metal shaft. One of the grey pieces wouldn't fit, he braced it on the table and put all his weight on the plastic part. It finally went through, but the metal shaft also went straight through the web between his thumb and pointer. It was ugly, and there was lots of screaming but no hospitalization. Seeing that picture brought back that memory in all its gory detail.
