This must be a local phenomenon there. Here, while milk* cartons go into the recycling bin, actual bottles still have deposits. Doesn't matter if glass or plastic. Most supermarkets have a bottle return machine near the entrance.Returnable milk bottles. (Pop bottles too.)

"Remote" control might be stretching it a bit.I had a Mighty Mo Cannon like this one when I was a kid. My dad gave it away to my cousins and I was not happy about that.
