You can almost see the ‘55 Chevy morphing out of these.

We had Yellow Front stores here in Arizona up until the 80s or 90s. I really miss them.
Ah, yes, looks like the '73 Ford LTD I learned how to drive in. My friends called it a 'land-barge' because the hood was so long, as was the whole car.

My '79 T-bird was called a "land yacht."
The airplane and beautiful woman were aftermarket accessories.

We always called any excessively large American automobile a “Stratocruiser.”
Another fun thing to do when inside a large car was to say (with our best imitation of a P.A. System), “Engine Room: More power!” Or “Left full rudder!”

That is my youth right there!
At my store in Bethesda there was an American Indian that showed up once or twice a week on specific days to make and sell jewelry at a special kiosk area of the store. That man had a PRESENCE. He was the real deal. And talented.
The car parts stores used to have stick-on, fake "switches" with humorous labels for one's dash.
I got one that said "Warp Speed."
