LOL! My first car (in 1979) was a '72 AMC Hornet, the Gremlin's bigger brother. Was used, previously a Bell Telephone car. Paid $500 for it, and although it was relatively dependable and got me where I needed to go, it rode very hard, as if there were no suspension system at all. And the styling, well, let's just say it was NOT a chick magnet.

My good friend and band light man bought a new AMC Hornet AMX like this one. It was not the best car but he liked it. I rode it in many times.

I saw this game in a local collectible store yesterday. They wanted about $65.00 for it.

Some of those came with some serious HP! They were kinda sleepers. We were all driving tricked out Chevys, Fords and Mopars and a Hornet would show up and stomp on our cars! That was a great era...

A hornet? My wife's grandma passed away in early 1990 and my brother in law inherited her yellow and black Hornet. That old car had less than 30k miles at 28 years old. He said when he went to drive home and got on the interstate the engine made some bad noises for a few miles. Probably the first time it had ever been over 50 mph in it's life.

That AMX version actually had some style to it. Mine was generic as a cardboard box, but with wheels.

Monopoly
(The Atlantic City version 1933)

Speaking of Monopoly, this Atlantic City version was one of the very first editions, created by Charles Darrow. It was based on The Landlord's Game, but Darrow modeled the board to match streets and houses in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

It was a lot more than "based on", and changing the street names. The original version was to teach about the "evils" of being a landlord/capitalist.
