My best friend had one we went everywhere in that thing
My Dad bought one too…not very dependable. There was a special Hell reserved for drivers of American Motors cars. All you had to do was e foolish to buy one. Or two.
In 1972 my father ditched the long history of owning Volkswagens to buy an Ambassador wagon and a Matador sedan. Junk. I have written before on the forum about the seatbelt interlock (no-start without being buckled in) that would fail and leave us stranded.
Count my dad in this unlucky group too! He got a used one in lieu of a rental payment. Yeah, he was not happy. My Dad bought one too…not very dependable.
From Wiki: A gremlin is a mischievous folkloric creature invented at the beginning of the 20th century to originally explain malfunctions in aircraft and later in other machinery and processes and their operators. Hmmm…

LOL! My first car (in 1979) was a '72 AMC Hornet, the Gremlin's bigger brother. Was used, previously a Bell Telephone car. Paid $500 for it, and although it was relatively dependable and got me where I needed to go, it rode very hard, as if there were no suspension system at all. And the styling, well, let's just say it was NOT a chick magnet. There was a special Hell reserved for drivers of American Motors cars. All you had to do was e foolish to buy one. Or two.

I think you can still buy those at Adam and Eve.
I get 2 or 3, send the same.Christmas Cards have finally bitten the dust.
I can remember all the times we gathered and slaved over them, inserting deep and sometimes double edged little comments.
You knew where you stood socially from the cards you put on the mantle place.
