I'm familiar with cable cars, and I'm familiar with buses...is that a cable bus?

They were called streetcars in most places. I think SF still has them.
Cable cars are pulled by a cable running underneath the street.
These are electric, and get electricity from the electric lines overhead.

WOW! That is a lot of cool looking Firebirds. This is my Firebird. I drove it last night to go see a Motely Crue tribute band show.

Ha! I've seen those before many years ago...sparks flying off the overhead electrical contacts.
Plus those wires all look cluttered and ugly to me.

Oh, I see..I got the term wrong.

But I think of streetcars as looking more like trains:

On the contrary, it looks like this bus is attached to the overhead electric lines (maybe I'm seeing it wrong):

I've never seen a "Body" tone control. It would have been even cooler if they labelled it "Booty".

I worked 1 of these for about 15 years. It never hiked up once and I never should have gotten rid of it.

That is a trolley bus. Operates from overhead wire-like a trolley car-but not limited to tracks(and the maintenance required for tracks). They usually run(ran?)on routes that had had trolley cars-on rails-w/o needing to have rails embedded in the road, which frees up space for multi-use lanes.
