Nice! my first car was a 66 Chevelle, same color. It had the 327 engine, and was a station wagon ( to haul my Acoustic bass rig with the 2-15 + midhorn cabinet)...

Ha! I had to adjust those things when in training school! Never had to do one in the field though, it was just replace it!
Heck there was a dive bar I went to that had a rotary phone and it was for INCOMING calls only; the owner had a lock on the dial to make sure none of his bartenders used it to make calls. I remember once CPD detectives came in to that joint and the bartender stepped outside to talk to them and when they came back in she pointed at me and told them "he was sitting right THERE". Apparently a murder suspect had been in earlier and I was warming his seat, LOL. Not long after that there was a lot of flashing blue outside while uni's searched nearby. I moved seats just in case he came back, no need to poke THAT bear, you know?
Of course back in the day, if someone put a lock on the dial, if you were good you could just "dial" the number by tapping on the switch hooks. Decadic dialing was called "loop disconnect" dialling. It has been supplanted by tone dialling or "MFC" these days, however, many modern exchanges still accept the older signalling methods. But only if your phone has a "tail" on it (i.e. not mobile or cordless). I learnt how to adjust one of these in training school and never went near another one as they were largely replaced by Crossbar Again, that has now been replaced by electronic varieties like AXE By that time, however, I had quit and gone tree lopping.
