I remember the days when smokers would drop a cig butt in any open beer can or bottle and I would unfortunately drink my beer and proceed to spray the contents all over the bar or stage. I got to the point of never letting my beer bottle or can out of my sight! Smoking was and is a disgusting habit!

I smoked for ~11 years(Quit 53 years ago). Last pack I bought cost 35 cents from a machine on base.

When I was young there were door to door salesmen known as "The Fuller Brush Man" who would stop at our house occasionally, and my mother did buy some things from them. One thing she bought was a small broom which she used in the kitchen for decades. I ended up owning it after she died, and used it for probably another twenty years. I think my ex wife ended up with it and she may still be flying around on it to this day.

I think there's something worse.

When I was a senior in high school, we had a Senior Lounge (it was just a disused classroom with some gnarly old brown plaid sofas, a cheap stereo, and a vending machine). It was also the fad to dip snuff. Guys who used snuff spit into a Coke can. Well, you can probaby guess where this is going... yep, the old cable spool table with a bunch of Coke cans, I picked up what I THOUGHT was my 2/3-consumed Coke, and right as I tipped it up and the liquid went into my mouth I realized "this is NOT Coca-Cola!" EWWWWWWW. I spent quite a lot of time at the hallway drinking fountain, trying to rinse out. Never made that mistake again. Keep your hand on your drink!!!

I used to carry a baby garter snake around in a big one of those when I was about 10 years old! All my friends had toads, frogs, snakes! My Mom finally made me leave it outside when one got loose in the house. Good times!
