Ah, Benny Hill! I was about 12 when I first saw his show, and my younger brother was around 7. After watching Benny always head-slapping that bald bloke, I decided that's what my little brother was for. Yep, those were the days. (My brother obviously disagrees.)

It's different, being made from different plants (original root beer was largely sassafras) but I think the basic formula of root/bark/etc with sweetener is the same.
I alcohol ginger beer? I thought ginger ale.
Definitely a different flavor though, especially most root beer varieties these days which are quite a bit sweeter. Some varieties are made with sarsaparilla instead of sassafras and might be called that instead of root beer, though the name's not really common in the US anymore.

Oh, and we definitely have ginger beer here. I know I've seen Goslings, Bundaberg, Cock n Bull, and Barritts on store shelves at least in the midwest. Plus Crabbies and I think one or 2 others for alcoholic ginger beers.

It was late and I thought he was asking if root beer was the same as ginger beer. Beer and Ale are synonymous here so I thought Ginger Ale or Vernors Ginger Ale. I had a few brewskies in me. Ha!

And I shoulda qualified that the only ginger beer I've seen here(S.E.FL)is imported.

With the proliferation of picture discs being released during the current vinyl record revival, I found this disclaimer interesting. Found on a vintage picture disc by the rock band Boston.

In 2012 Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler collected the very first convertible example of Hennessey’s Venom GT. Boasting 1200 hp and a top speed of 270 mph, this Venom GT was specially made for Steven Tyler after he approached the Texas-based company to make a Spyder version especially for him. The car was sold at auction in 2017 for $800,000, with all the proceeds going to charity.

I have one of those Boston picture discs along with many other picture discs.

Back in the 1940s, a company called Vogue Records made many picture discs. I used to have quite a few of them but sold them.
