When I was a kid, the Helms Bakery truck would come down the street.
It had long drawers that would pull out and display all the donuts and stuff

Back home we had this joint called Milky Way.

You would usually go there for ice cream, but on the weekends, they had an ice cream truck that came to our hood. We lived across the street from amusement park, so they'd be out there in the early evenings, when the lightning bugs were out. It wasn't an ice cream truck like the ones now. This was a full on ice cream shop on wheels. You could get banana splits, milkshakes, sundaes, etc.
